With Michi's retirement from the government and ops team, the position of Jarl of Culture came open. This is perhaps the most closed Jarldom in a community that rarely sees open Jarl positions. Since January 2015 the position has been held by either Michi, Gerrick, or Ruguo, legendary Jarls who each heralded some new aspect to our community culture. Those three people have heralded our culture for over 7 years and over the vast majority of Wintreath's existence.

Today, that era ends, as I'm happy to announce @Marzipan as our new Jarl of Culture! This appointment likely comes as a surprise to nobody, given that Mars has already heralded new aspects in our culture by transforming Wintreath into a true gaming community as Thane of Gaming. There they did everything from personally ran games to creating the Dungeon Masters, a guild of people interested in putting together gaming events for our community. Beyond that, they've become a leading voice within both the Cabinet and throughout the community, and as a result was our most mentioned Citizen in the Frosty Bugle for the first half of the year stimming from their involvement in so many aspects of our community.

After seeing all they've done as Thane, I'm excited to see what they can do now as Jarl. Please join me in congratulating them on the well-deserved promotion!
