A Word from the Monarch
Springtime in WintreathThis month’s
Wintreath in Statistics bores out what I’ve been talking about for the last few weeks: that we’re on a massive upswing, the likes of which we haven’t seen in over a year. Even more impressive, the activity boost was across almost every category on all three of our official platforms, from general chat to gaming to government work. The only area where activity really fell was the ops and moderation Discord channels, which isn’t exactly a bad thing.
But stats can’t measure just how fun and exciting Wintreath has been lately. The community has felt more outgoing, warm, and positive. There have been so many more chats to take part in, lots of interesting new topics on the forums, and I’ve especially loved the return of Cards Against Humanity and Among Us games. And even if the other games aren’t necessarily my thing personally, it’s awesome watching people get hyped for them and then have a good time playing them, especially people who aren’t usually active in our community. That just goes to show what our community can be when we’re firing on all cylinders: we become a community where there really is something for everyone.
And I feel like we’re just getting started. I’m excited to see our second Among Us night on the gaming schedule for this Thursday, and I’m continuing to develop our forum Werewolf system (where we’ve had 2 major games this year!). Our Mage Wars game is continuing, and once that’s over I’ll begin working on simplifying the game more so that it runs faster. We’ve also talked about adding more features to the forums like dice rolls and other things that will open up more types of games. And I’m sure there’ll be more kinds of game nights as other hosts step up and run the sorts of games they want to see.
This is the best time to be a part of Wintreath in years, and I would like to thank everybody who has played a part in this revival in the last month, from the Cabinet (and especially Marzipan, who has organized most of our game nights), to our game hosts, to the people who have been chatting on the forums and the Discord. We’re making our community what we want it to be, and I hope everyone is as excited to see what the future has in store.
Stay frosty,
-Winter

What's Happening NowNews from Wintreath
Marzipan Wins Wintreath’s Finest for March!By an overwhelming margin (12-1-1), Marzipan (
New Montith) was voted our most outstanding Citizen for March. This isn’t surprising given all the work they have put into restarting various game nights, which many people have enjoyed. For winning, Marzipan was awarded 2 krone (our regional currency) and a custom role on the forums and Discord for April. Congratulations to them!
"Cult of Wintreath" Wins April Avatar of the MonthEveryone is encouraged to update their forum avatars, Discord pfps, and NationStates flags to reflect the theme, which asks “what would flags and avatars look like if Wintreath was actually a cult of some kind?”. It will be fun seeing what creative ideas that everyone comes up with! And congratulations to Wintermoot for making the nomination!
