  • Oh, and no, I'm confident about that part at least: no Wolves were killed while I was trying to get my 3 NLs, because that would have been an instant fail to my objective.

  • Which further reinforced the idea for me that as long as they weren't provoked, they wouldn't become a hostile faction.

  • What I'm saying is that because that is true, I would have had to make all those kills, yet I had no reason too. I would've killed totally different players, personally, and I think you should know that.
Fuck it, this convinces me, honestly. I think Mel or I would have been the first to go.

  • Towns, Wolves, Wolfie Towns and Townie Wolves and everyone in between, hear me: I have chosen this time and this place to discuss a topic on which ignorance too often abounds and the truth is too rarely perceived--yet it is the most important topic on earth: world peace.

What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Wintreatha enforced on the world by Wintrean weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children--not merely peace for Towns but peace for all alignments--not merely peace in our time but peace for all time!

Therefore, join me, brothers and sisters, in proving that World Peace is a goal worth fighting for, though the world may call you insane. Have courage, have heart, for true peace is within our grasp! Vote No Lynch!
I was actually quite cheekily spelling out my objective when I made this speech.

  • The host did say, at one point, that the gimmick -- actually let's just use their words:

    Spoiler

Okay, had my fun. Yeah, no, I am actually Town, and no, this is a good thing: all the Wolves have basically just become Town. The gimmick of my role and this game was the question: Are Wolves actually evil? Maybe they only kill in self-defence because they live in a hostile world and are scared about the blood-thirsty Towns-folk who try to kill them during the day.

Lau's success has revealed the gimmick of the game.

My boyfriend and I were having a conversation one night as I was trying to explain why I play Werewolf and he asked what makes the wolves evil? A question I couldn't answer. Day 1 we start accusing people of being evil and lynch them without regard every single time. If you lived in that world and were a wolf chilling in a town and all your neighbors started screaming for blood would you feel safe? Would you defend yourself against the mob? Something something witches in monty Python something something.

Town still wins by eliminating the remaining threats to town.

The only problem is that we don't know, for a fact, that this is true. Especially since you have two kills last night as opposed to just one.

Anyway, are you sure, Cin Min, that you're the cause of the redactions to the reveals?

This implies Survivor to me then. Since they don't have to win with town.

I think it's possible that Mafia is still a faction. Though that does kinda go against the idea of them not being bad guys, but the fact that no one outed as previous Mafia is suspicious. The fact that there were two kills last night and mafia isn't supposed to have killing power is also odd. Considering how many town claims we have, Vro's survivor claim, I'm assuming 1 SK, and then the 3-4 people who were previously mafia...it leads to not much room for other 3rd party killing I feel. We already had vig die. It is possible we have two vigs since Ex only had a chance of his shot hitting. If we have a vig with a similar role to Ex's they should probably claim (this is assuming they were one shot too).

I'm not sure, but my character is definitely involved flavor wise. That's all I know. So I was trying to figure out if anything I did possibly triggered it but I have no clue what that would be.

  • Frankly, if the host is lying to me I'm not really interested in playing this game and y'all can just go ahead and kill me.
I'm not lying to you about anything related to your role your wincon or what happened to the wolves when you succeeded

  • That would imply mafia or SK (or arsonist), but not survivor. Survivor is able to win together with town even though they can win with mafia.

Based on the strict wording of "have or had potential to not be able to win together are considered opposing" this would strictly exclude survivor. Survivor being able to win with mafia =/= not being able to town currently or in the past. This does, however, strictly describe the mafia despite Laur's role.

  • I think parts of the game state are easy to explain away by some sort of hostile 3P "activating" after my goal succeeded, seeing as my ability would have been pretty OP. What's less easy to explain is the targets chosen.

It is possible in an alternate conclusion to the game though, if the evil roles outnumber the remaining town 3 to 1, for example if there were 3 mafia and 1 town left. A survivor in this gamestate would not be able to win with town. The options are either "have" or "had" potential. Therefore, I absolutely can be survivor based on this, as I am one.

  • Or something like that. Maybe I'm confused.

I don't really care to parse it more though, seeing as I am actually a survivor.
