Michi’s Adventures in the World AssemblyI’ve talked a lot about all the fun and games happening in Wintreath lately, and in this edition you can see even more fun games and events happening soon. However, you might not know that Wintreath has also been exceptionally active in the NationStates World Assembly (WA) lately thanks to our delegate, Michi (
Penguin Dictators). Michi has not only been voting on World Assembly proposals, but has taken to debating them on the WA forums. Today I wanted to highlight some of his recent work in the WA and why you should support him with your WA endorsement.
General Assembly: LGBTIQA+ Inclusiveness in Schools ActOur Stance: FORResult: Passed 11,213 (69.5%) to 4,921 (30.5%)As a community who strives to embrace people for who they are, as well as one with a large LGBTIQA+ community, it goes without saying that we support measures that support a person’s freedom to safely and confidently express their sexual orientation, romantic orientation, and gender idenity. Beyond voting for the proposal, our delegate participated in the debate, pushing back against assertions that the measure elevates LGBTIQA+ people above others and that it infringes on freedom of speech. We support freedom of speech, but believe that it comes with the personal responsibility to use it in a civil, respectful, and mature manner that does not infringe on the rights of others to safely be themselves.
Security Council: Commend EmilineOur Stance: FORResult: Passed 9,510 (59.0%) to 6,600 (41.0%)I have never met the nominee, and I don’t personally know anything about her. However, our delegate does and confirmed to the community that she is worthy of commendation for the reasons listed in the measure. For that reason alone, Wintreath almost unanimously supported the commendation. However, again Michi went beyond merely voting for the proposal, going to the debate to push back against shadowy and unproven allegations concerning some of the regions and organizations which she was being commended for doing good works in. This is also in line with our principles as a community, and it speaks greatly to Michi’s character that he would voluntarily take up such a debate.
Security Council: Commend Shizensky PrimeOur Stance: FORResult: Failing 7,953 (51.7%) to 7,416 (48.3%) at publication timeShizensky is an iconic person in the defender world, whose commendation is centered around his contributions to the culture, foreign affairs, and technology of the regions he was involved in as well as the greater defender world. These contributions include the establishment of relations between his region, Renegade Islands Alliance (RIA), and a number of then-new up-and-coming defender regions, including Wintreath, where he served as RIA’s first ambassador to us. Our delegate voiced support for this resolution early on, mentioning that the nominee had been great to even talk to or play Werewolf games with, and then supported the proposal within Wintreath as it came to vote.
These are just a few ways that Michi has been involved in the WA lately. As a region that has historically been inactive in the WA we’re lucky to have a delegate that’s as interested and involved in the World Assembly as he is. His stances and positions are not just his personal ones, but reflect the ideals and principles of our community as applied to the WA. Lately I have talked a lot about all the fun and games happening in Wintreath thanks to people like Marzipan (
New Montith),
Red Mones, MrMansion (
Acyria), and more. However, Michi’s work is important for our community as well, and I wrote this because I don’t want to see it fly under the radar.
Moreover, I hope you’ll agree that his work is worthy of your support and your WA endorsement. As delegate, his vote carries the weight of everyone endorsing him. If he has 50 endorsements, then he has 51 votes in the WA (his own plus the 50 endorsing him). Therefore, endorsing him gives him and Wintreath a more powerful voice in the WA. We will be rolling out initiatives to encourage our nations to join the WA and endorse our delegate in the coming weeks, but if you would like to lend your support now please do the following:

Special Announcement: 1st Annual Wintreath FairAnnounced by Thane of Roleplay Svipjoth
Next weekend, from the 1st to the 3rd of April, the Thane of Roleplay will be hosting the first annual Wintreath Fair in Wintermoot City! We invite the dignitaries of each nation in Wintreath to feature their culture and technology in their own display and for the citizens of each nation to explore the displays of their fellow Wintreathean nations. Anything may be showcased as part of a nation’s display except for any physical military technology (non-physical military technology, such as blueprints, pictures, videos, etc, are permitted). We also encourage that each display features a dish that represents their culture, since there will be a food competition: the Frozen Monarch himself will try each dish, and whichever nation served his favorite, will earn 1 Krone and the title of the Best Food in Wintreath 2022! We hope to see you there!
Wintermoot’s Note: We have lots of nations that do roleplay on our region page, and if you’re one of them, I hope you will consider being part of the fair! It should be a fresh, fun event, and if it’s successful it will encourage us to run more events for our NationStates roleplayers. Again, hope to see you there!

New Montith) has been putting together so many great game nights with so many different games since their return to our community. It’s exciting to be having so many fun gaming events, and this is a well-deserved appointment, so please join me in congratulating them!

MrManson Appointed as Thane of Regional AffairsThis in turn created a vacancy in Stigya’s old position, which he filled the next day by announcing MrManson (
Acyria) as our new Thane of Regional Affairs. Since arriving in Wintreath last week, MrManson has impressed many in the Cabinet with his interest in regional and World Assembly issues. MrManson has already hit the ground running by offering to host an Among Us night and creating new polls on our region page. Congratulations to him on his impressive rise to the Cabinet!

New Montith) has announced a schedule of gaming events, including Jackbox, trivia, Cards Against Humanity, and Among Us (hosted by MrManson). These events will be included in this publication as listed at press time, but be sure to check the topic for the most up to date schedule!
Named “A New Adventure in Old London” and hosted by Neon Abigail, this game promises plenty of chaos and unique roles, but also a post limit to make sure that people can keep up on it all. Werewolf is very similar to games like Among Us and Town of Salem, just through text on our forums, so if you like these sorts of games why not give it a try? Signups are open until March 27th or 18 players have signed up!
Nominations Open for Mafia Championship Season 9The time has come again to choose our representative to compete in the Mafia Championships! Hosted by Mafia Universe, the Mafia Championship brings representatives from dozens of communities together to compete in Werewolf/Mafia games every year.
