Wintreath in Statistics
Statistics for the Month that Was
December 2021
Overall, activity in December was relatively stable compared to the month before and I feel that we're in a good place to begin growing again in 2022. We had a tough year in 2021...activity hit rock-bottom during the summer, and in many ways I feel throughout the year we were still living in the shadow of the dramas we went through in 2019 and 2020. However, we now have fresh blood in the community, a stable government that's becoming more ideas, and ideas and projects that should see the light in the next few months. I feel that with the new year a new day has turned, and I believe that it's morning again in Wintreath.

The forums were just a wee bit more active in December, thanks to Spyfall, Mage Wars, and plentiful forum spam. That being said, we were way down compared to last year when a Werewolf game was going on, highlighting the importance of Werewolf to the forums. Speaking of which, I believe a new Werewolf game is imminent, and we will soon be rolling out a new forum for the RP Guild and RPs, so I'm hopefully the forums will become very active once again.

Things were mostly stable on Discord, but activity shifted away from general discussion areas and toward more specific areas, especially in the gaming category. #gaming itself grew for a 4th consecutive month and #minecraft boasted a huge improvement thanks to a bot trader implemented that allows people on Discord to communicate with people on the Minecraft server. On the other hand, #zaphyr declined because there were no Cards Against Humanity games in December, and #content-warning-general declined because there were no long-running debates such as the men's privilege debate that ran through November. Overall, I'm curious to see if the trend toward more specific channels holds or if things reverse in January. We shall see!
