After several months of work, I'm happy to roll out the forum redesign for the forum view...the page that lists the topics in a particular forum. This is one of the few pages that had received very little work over the years, so I launched into it with the goals of making the page more streamlined, easier to understand, mobile-friendly, and informative to new members.
Besides just looking better, the biggest change is a new space at the top of each forum for information about that forum, which replaces and improves on the forum description that used to be on the main page for each forum. This area can be as long or as short as needed, but can be collapsed for those who don't need or want to see them. Most importantly, they can be updated by forum moderators (who are usually Cabinet members responsible for that area), using an interface that's complete with the new post editor (meaning that forum descriptions can also use BBcode).
This could be great for explaining the purpose of each forum, posting any special rules the forum has, links to topics that might be helpful to get into the forum, and more! At the moment many forums just have an old generic description, but I made an example description on the
Werewolf forum showing what it can do. Hopefully we can soon have good descriptions on every forum.
