I ran into this the other day and it's been sitting in my browser since:
https://www.my90stv.com/The idea is pretty simple...it pulls Youtube videos from the 90s and puts it in a format that makes it look like it's on a television. It has all the buttons a television would have (you have to hit the power button to turn it on, lol), as well as options to select what year of videos you want to watch (1990-1999) and boxes to filter out categories of videos you don't want to watch.
I like the concept a lot. I like curated content like this when it's done right because it's a great way to discover new things that you might not have even thought to checkout. But this particular case has some flaws...for many years by far the biggest category is music videos, and even disabling that I get a lot of episodes of
The Computer Chronicles. It's fascinating watching people in the 90s speculate about the future of technology, but I need more variety after awhile. I found a few 90s cartoons that were fun to watch, mostly ones I'd never heard of before (and I'm saying this as a 90s kid), but they was few and far between. There were also cases where videos have been removed from Youtube and you get the error message from that, meaning there's no mechanism for automatically removing those videos.
I wish there was a better variety, but I really like the concept. Overall I'm on the fence and I'm not sure how long I'll keep trying it out, but I suppose it's been interesting enough to keep watching for a few days.
