What's this? Another election? =O

Several weeks ago, I made a proposal that in part would have enabled the Underhusen to represent Citizens directly to the Cabinet in a joint-group. Since the UH has not taken me up on my proposal, I thought that for the autumn session I would experiment with an separate elected group that will serve the same purpose.

Therefore, I am calling elections for the Citizens' Council (better name to be concocted later).

What is the Citizens' Council?
The Citizens' Council is an elected group of 5 players that represent Citizens to the Cabinet in a joint-group. They will have a private Discord channel with the Cabinet to discuss issues, participate in planning for the season, and help build and maintain the region. Those that stand for election will have the opportunity to campaign on an agenda that they will actually be able to help plan and work on. The group will be entitled to regular briefing sessions with the Cabinet, where they may receive information ahead of when it would be announced to everyone else.

The Citizens’ Council is technically part of the Monarchy, and a decree to that effect will be issued later in the week.

How do I Run?
To qualify as a candidate for Citizens’ Council, you must be a Citizen as of the time this post was made and must not be a member of the Cabinet during the autumn term. To run, simply post here stating that you are standing, then make a campaign topic introducing yourself, explaining why you want to be on the Council, why people should vote for you, and your agenda if you have one. To be on the ballot, you must have a campaign up by the time nominations close!

Nominations will remain open until Thursday, September 10th, at which point elections will run until Monday, September 14th!

Good luck to those who were interested enough to run. I look forward to seeing how this experiment goes this season.

Welcome to the campaign, @W Amadeus. I think it would be especially exciting to have some new Citizens on the Council, so I'm glad to see that you're standing.

To everyone: on the campaign, you don't actually have to have a specific agenda. At a minimum, just introduce yourself, explain why you want to be on the Council, and why people should vote for you. I apologize if the OP made it sound like you needed to have a specific idea or plan you wanted to accomplish in order to run.

Similarly to Gerrick, I must also decline my nomination, on the basis of having no agenda ideas whatsoever. :p

Ah, well if that's the case that we don't really need an agenda, I will in fact stand (Vroendal, did you not read Wintermoot's message before you posted? ). Will be interesting to get firsthand experience with this experiment.
