Voting for the Underhusen elections are now open! You can vote for up to four candidates for Underhusen. You may also vote for fewer people by writing in "Abstain" on any slot you don't want to fill with a candidate. You may post your ballot in this topic, or PM it to me if you wish for your ballot to remain private. Ballots will be counted and the results will be given at the end of the elections one week from today. Good luck to all our candidates!

oh damn this is actually kind of unprecedented, I don't think I've ever seen a public vote from you

incidentally, deeply amused by how the votes are shaking out as either the same slate of 4 candidates, or 3 abstentions and me
also somewhat surprised at the fact that the norm against voting for yourself seems to have been eroded away, but in practice I suppose that's much better than what I assume had been going on before, which was private voting for yourself and then (number of seats-1) abstentions

This is why I feel compelled to make my vote public.

I am profoundly disappointed in the way that you have ran your campaign, from starting it just to try to spark a constitutional crisis, to stating that the sole purpose if your candidacy should you win will be to do the same. You've forced me to waste my time running an election that otherwise wouldn't have been contested that you have no interest in (because you tried to withdraw your candidacy at one point when you thought that would spark a crisis), and you offer no solutions on how to resolve the problem that you run on other than more shenanigans.

Lack of interest and activity in the Underhusen may be a legitimate issue, and at one time I thought it was an issue that you had a real interest in resolving. I was fine with the idea of BID poking fun at the issue while being a catalyst to resolve it in good faith. But now you're trying to force regional crisis and dramas over it, and that is a bridge too far. Even worse, at this point I don't think you're doing it out of concern or interest in the Underhusen or the region, but for personal amusement. That is why I've taken the unprecedented step of making my vote public.

You have to admit taking personal amusement out of the situation is sometimes the only way to get things done. To think of the community as anything but evolving from a game would be selling yourself short, and that, by nature, lends itself to some level of casualness.

Doc is simply exposing the follies of the Underhusen, since most things that are passed are either jokes, surface-level resolutions, or policies that could've just been implemented by the Monarch with a small amount of public input.
