  • Character: Res Bokor

    Species: Longren
    Age: 24
    Rank: Lieutenant
    Department: Navigation and Control
    Alignment: Longren Military
Appearance: A soft green mottled with cream and beige splotches, especially prominent on his face. Two small, snakelike fangs adorn either side of his jaw.
Background: Res grew up on the Longren Homeworld, Loxx. He was raised by his father, a federation officer by trade who worked at the academy on their homeworld. Despite his father's best effort, he couldn't control Res enough to protect him from the government's eyes. Res was drafted into their military training program at the young age of twelve, having excelled in his classes and on government tests, much to his father's displeasure. When he got to the military school, he continued to find it difficult to do things as asked. Though he was frequently top of his class, he was constantly overlooked for promotional activities because his thinking was divergent from the norm, and he liked to question why he couldn't do things. He failed almost every one of his command classes because he refused to undertake mission simulations he found unethical to solve the desired way. Because of this, he was delayed from going out on assignment with the rest of his training class because of this. While he should have been doing an apprenticeship at 16 and deployed at 18, he was held back at the training facility for additional brainwashing...er, training. He was deployed first at the age of twenty to a planetary posting in the newly occupied Narus System, but his commanders soon decided they would rather not put up with the idiot that kept questioning why they were doing everything. He was quickly transferred to a ship he can't quite remember the name of, and no one will tell him. As far as Res has been told, that ship crashed on the planet Buzkulam, who's gravity field had caused many a ship to meet their doom due to unprepared pilots. However, certain facts from his past don't quite line up, especially that upon awakening from what he was told was a two month Coma, he was promoted and reassigned onto the Minx. And that his record suddenly became highly classified information, as did everyone else's record who he could remember on the ship before the crash.

    Character: Orirug (Ori)

    Species: Irismar Mortnix
    Age: 723
    Rank: Steir
    Department: Engineering
    Alignment: Clan Rug
Appearance: Standing just over a meter in height, Ori is slightly denser than the average IM from years of intense training for his profession. Ori also floats higher than the average IM, having a much more powerful magnetic field than others. The only magnetic fields that can outclass an engineering IM are those of the architecture class and the tactical class, though the tactical class hide it a lot better. Ori is a grey-green, and has shards of metal embedded around his right eye from his clan's crash on Rayn. His leaves are a deep green, and his roots shorter than average, thus his rest cycle is longer than normal because he needs longer to intake the same amount of nutrients as others.
Background: Ori was part of the V class IM ship that crashed on the Cyaranean homeworld or Rayn. Before the IM homeworld blew up, and before the crash of his ship, Ori worked as a ship inspector and engineer at the port, specializing in reconstruction and repairs, with a hobby in making old ships compatible with modern technology. His pet project was the many, many decommissioned V class ships that were retired once his people acheived faster than light travel, which are over two hundred years old at this point in time. When the IMs received the news that their planet was self destructing, Ori was placed on the team of engineers tasked with getting as many ships operational as possible for their people to flee to the Neba, a massive station cloaked somewhere that only the highest ranking of each clan ever were allowed to know. Ori worked tirelessly, but the date of destruction predictions were wrong, and not all ships were as functional as they should have been. Ori and his clan ended up on one of the less functional V class ships, and were caught riding the blast out of the system with damaged engines, and that's how they ended up crashing on Rayn. There, they spent a few months undetected, Ori and Eie working to repair their ship to try and get to the Neba, as most of clan rug was not of the engineering or architectural variety, most being in science, development, and food. Ori was deep underground with the ship when the rest of his clan was captured, and has never really forgiven himself for not being there. Sometime during the next dozen years, Ori got the ship modified enough to run in what he calls an I configuration. Not knowing the coordinates of the Neba, he's been drifting around space for a while, refilling the CO2 canisters on the ship sparingly, as the cloak can't function while the ship is on planet. The V class never had any weapons, and the cloak is an addition, so it's not the best ship to be stuck on, but it's all Ori is working with. Recently though, the fuel collectors have stopped working for the umpteenth time and Ori can't seem to get them back online again.
Ori is the third in line for Clan Rug, and bears the title Lord in formal settings.

  • Character: Borghild Gernna

    Species: Fenrir
    Age: 21
    Rank: Ensign
    Department: Security
Alignment: Wintreath, by oath; Clan Himmelskind, by birth
Appearance: Standing at 8 ft 7 in (2.62 m) tall with brown and black fur and eyes like sharp emeralds, she has a sturdy frame and a well toned body. Her collar is a chain mesh with a durable ceramic plate. (More details about Fenrir)

    Background:
Borghild and her brother were born on a Wintreath exploration ship just months after it left Wintreath space. Their parents were two of the engineers working aboard the ship which necessitated her and her brother be placed in day care often while the two worked. Her brother seemed to be developing socially pretty well, but she was a bit of a problem child. She did not get along with the other children and sometimes had fits of anger and lashed out at the others.
At the age of 10 she was already almost the size of a full grown human and often was disciplined by having to clean entire rooms with what was effectively a toothbrush while being supervised by a member of the security team. She used these times to talk to the security team about what they do and where they are from.
Taking a liking to spending time with them, she asked to be trained as a security member. Still on mission for another seven years and needing a way to get her to be productive, the Captain agreed and gave oversight of her training to the Chief of Security. She spent three years going through rigorous physical exercise and challenging mental exercises before being introduced to any sort of combat. She was started out with hand to hand combat then was introduced to melee weapons including how to fashion a makeshift weapon. It was another two years before she was introduced to the standard issue phaser pistol. The next two years were spent on cleaning and maintaining the weapon, marksmanship, and how to properly defend the ship with it.
On the return trip to Wintreath space, the ship was caught by pirate raiders. Sneaking past long range scanners and coming in faster than the ship could react, the raiders boarded the ship. The battle was long and confusing for her, but she managed to help prevent a squad of raiders from reaching the engineering section where her parents were working. She found out after the attack that her brother had been caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and received a knife to the abdomen and was in the infirmary in critical condition. She spent her last few months aboard the ship with her brother, talking to him, reading him books, playing games on datapads with him, and being his emotional support. Upon arriving at their destination, she said goodbye to her family and promised to become the best officer she could be before boarding a transport to the Wintreath Fleet Academy.
At the academy, Borghild was the only Fenrir of her class focusing on security instead of engineering. Fenrir study groups formed around engineering, and while she was taking some engineering classes, she had to look elsewhere for security study groups. She found one with some humans and a Xlakrii. Quickly becoming competitive with the Xlakrii in her group, she aggressively pursued her studies and training and unknowingly attracted some romantic attention from the Xlakrii. After graduating from the academy with honors, Borghild was awarded the rank of Ensign alongside her study group members. While they were waiting for their assignments to ships in the fleet, the Xlakrii made his move on her which she was surprised by and promptly turned down by kicking him hard in the groin, bursting his reproductive organs, snapping his pelvis, and launching him into the ceiling hard enough to get a minor concussion. This act received much negative attention, and as a disciplinary action she was assigned to be a security team member aboard the Longren ship CLS Minx for the duration of its mission.

  • I was going to create my own race but it was too much work for me to try to figure out the lore between this and DSW and try to piece myself into it.

As such. Hopefully being a Human from the Federation works  :D

    Character: Mari Tanaka

    Species: Human
    Age: 19
    Rank: Cadet
    Department: Medical
    Alignment: Federation (?)
    Apperance:

    (Hopefully this image works)

    Background:
Mari was born in Japan planet Earth but from the time she could walk and talk she was always looking to the stars. Her dad had been Federation military and when he was on shore leave he would help teach her everything she needed to know to accomplish her dreams. Her childhood was fairly normal but from a young age she showed apptitude for medical sciences and her father pushed her to pursue a path in medical, she also learned to use weapons and self defense from her dad. She enlisted at 17 and quickly rose to the top of her class showing expert marksmanship, combat ability and medical proficiency. At graduation it was noted "about the only thing she can't do is fly the ship" however she is a pacifist at heart and she will only ever fight as an absouloute last resort. Her first assignment was a still classified mission aboard a top secret starship. What is known is that during her mission the crew came in contact with injured Longren on a rim world. Mari's quick thinking led to the Longren surviving otherwise devastating wounds and Mari was quickly sent to work as a Federation appointed medical cadet on the Longren ship CLS Minx. The personnel file that the Federation sent to the Captain of the Minx notes that she has a penchant for extreme sarcasm and included several written warnings but doesn't include many details on what for. Many on her old ship have silently wondered if Mari's reassignment "for her heroism" was really just the excuse the Federation was looking for to finally get her out of their hair.

(If this doesn't work or needs any changes please let me know I'm also willing to play more characters if you want)

  • As I usually do, I will be playing the entourage of Gorram that seem ever-present on Wintrean vessels :D

    Character: Prikki Tel'Yorak

    Species: Gorram
    Age: 35
    Rank: Senior astronomer
    Department: Navigation and Control
    Alignment: Wintrean Federation, Gorram Technocracy
    Appearance:
Background: Like his brother Aki, Prikki Tel'yorak was born into a prominent scientific family in the Technocracy, which quickly put him on a path for success. His father served as one of the tenured scientists on the High House, and his mother served as First Speaker of the Technocracy for many years. Prikki and his brother, Aki, accelerated through the many layered education of the Technocracy, before Prikki became a senior scientist in the Astronomical Society, while Aki became an ordinance and supply officer in the Gorram military. After Aki was assigned to Deep Space Wintreath (I just realize it never had an official name lol), Prikki petitioned his superiors to be assigned to a Gorram exploration vessel. However, a few days after he wrote to the Astronomical Society, the Wintrean Federation put out a call for scientists and engineers to travel onboard the CLS Minsk. The Astronomical Society decided to send Prikki to serve aboard the Minsk, although, due to the fact that the Longren and the Gorram have historically been enemies before the creation of the Federation, the Technocracy also gave him an assignment to keep an eye on the Minsk, and to make sure any path it takes does not end up being detrimental towards the Technocracy.
Other: He and the rest of the Gorram are typically accompanied by a number of autonomous and semi-autonomous drones for specific tasks.

Here are some other crew members that I'll put here. They won't have as much backstory, but they will have good interactions :)

    Character: Oren Ker'Taan
    Age: 32
    Rank: Adviser
    Department: N/A
    Alignment: Wintrean Federation, Gorram Technocracy
Appearance: As above, but with a black tint rather than green
Backstory: Oren is an unremarkable Gorram that serves as Prikki's assistant. He does not have any place in the formal command structure, and is merely there to help advise Prikki. He is one of the few who know of his other assignment, and he works as best he can to help achieve it while remaining unobtrusive.

    Character: Deena Nook'Ta
    Age: 18
    Rank: Cadet
    Department Medical, Xenobiology
Appearance: Like above, but with an orange tint
Backstory: Deena is a young Gorram, who's first assignment out of the Academy was under Tel'Yorak's command. She is a specialist in xenobiology, and while she does not have as much practical knowledge as Preeki or the other Gorram CO's, she has a lot of knowledge on the various species of the Federation, and is excited to do her part for the expedition.

    Character: Rakki Al'To
    Age: 19
    Rank: Technician
    Department: Engineering
Appearance: Like above, but with a white tint
Backstory: Rakki is a young Gorram, who serves as an engineer aboard the Minsk. Like Deena, he is fresh out of the Academy, and as suc, he does not have as much practical knowledge as the others, he has a lot of knowledge on the technology used in the Federation.

There we are! There are ~6 or 7 other Gorram aboard, which we'll see more of as the RP progresses!

    Rank: Lieutenant
    Job: Engineer
Appearance: White, Male, and 5'9" although he claims he is 6'. He can be seen in his uniform, always perfectly in shape although his blonde hair is very messy.
Background: John was born in Ohio. His father, who was a huge gun fanatic, passed away when John was 4 leaving him his entire gun safe and everything in it but only his mother had the code to the lock and gave him the code when he was 13, after a very big gun safety course. His mother a mechanic, and spent her free time teaching John the basics. In school, John was never good at school, not because he was dumb but rather because he is very uninterested by it. After school, he practiced shooting his father's .22. By the end of his school career, he was very good at mechanics and a decent shot. He then went into college to get his degree in mechanics and engineering. He then went into the Longren Military and worked on many starships but never went into space. When his Major told him that he was picked to go into space he was thrilled and started to pack his things.

  • Command Staff

    Character: Zognen Veve
    Species: Longren
    Age: 51
    Rank: Captain
    Department: Command
Alignment: Longren Military (Almost fanatical about it too)
Appearance: Beige with black spots, becoming closer together near the head, leading into a completely black face. Absolutely covered in scars, and missing a large chunk of flesh around his left ear hole, along with his left fang.
Backstory: Raised by his mother after his father's demise early in his childhood, Captain Veve developed a very pessimistic outlook on life. Nothing anyone but him did was ever good enough. He was the second of four children to enter the Longren Military, though he was the only one not directly recruited. He was overlooked for most of his training years, and developed a deep resentment of those around him for it. No one was ever as good as him, so why was he not getting the promotion? He was not particularly nice to anyone around him because of this disposition. Once the military finally found out he was basically an emotionless machine, he was fast tracked into the front lines, where he became a decorated veteran an the frontier, conquering planet after planet with his unit. His unit kept dying around him, he wasn't very good at keeping them alive as he wasn't in charge of them, which is the only reason he would ever have to care about anyone. Once they eventually gave him his own unit, the casualty rate around him went down significantly. So much so that they put him into the officers academy in hopes of having him lead a whole ship out to the frontier with minimal casualties. He not only successfully completed the mission, but did it without deviating from the books... at all. His crew hated him, but they all came back alive, so the military shrugged them and their emotions off and assigned him to a bigger ship as commander. After serving there for a few years, his captain was inevitably killed because Captain Veve couldn't care less about his superiors if they weren't going to help him move up the ranks, and they didn't count towards his numbers. At this point, the military just shrugged and made his field promotion to captain official, and that is how he got command of the Minx. He is also suspected of having a relationship with his former federation lieutenant (A human! how disgraceful!), though no one knows if they're still together.

    Character: S'Eli Akodakas
    Species: Longren
    Age: 39
    Rank: Commander
    Department: Command
    Alignment: Longren Military
Appearance: Primarily a brownish red with white stripes on her body and a large white splotch on her face.
Backstory: She's dependable and has a strong sense of right and wrong, though is open to having her morals challenged, a result of a childhood based on order and knowledge. She was born in a high class family, where she was expected to learn everything she could and continue on the family line. She lived without worry until she was about 11 years old, when she was recruited by the Military, much to the shock of her family who had been keeping her away from the government, away from school, and as much away from anyone who wasn't rich as possible. To this day, it is unclear as to how her existence caught the attention of the military. Through her training, she routinely volunteered in less fortunate parts of the community and became very familiar with different ways of life. She developed a soft spot for all non-longren species in the conglomerate, and spent much of her free time trying to help others in a strange world. She found herself a balanced life of service and knowledge, and found she wasn't a half bad marksman, though far from frontier material. The military found she was a natural leader from her years spent among the people, and placed her into the command track at the academy, where she participated in an exchange program with the Wintrean Federation. Entering her first posting at lieutenant rank, she exceeded expectations, but her ideas were found to be a bit too radical and compassionate, so she was held at lieutenant rank for far longer than was really reasonable. She finally got frustrated about being passed over when she had some of the best performance reviews in her fleet, and finally was promoted to Lieutenant commander aboard the CLS Kangor. From there she had to fight yet again for a promotion, and they figured that maybe a rule loving captain would finally beat the compassionate approach out of her. On the Minx, she has become somewhat stricter as a self preservation measure, but there's still her soft side underneath a very thin, very hard outer shell.

    Character: Moore Knavaz
    Species: Sitari-Longren
    Age: 32
    Rank: Lieutenant commander
    Department: Command
    Alignment: Wintrean Federation
Appearance: Being a halfbreed, Moore retains her insectoid antennae and has no fangs to speak of. Her colour is more of a solid green-turquoise than would otherwise be seen in Longren.
Backstory: Growing up in the back alleys of an abandoned Longren outpost wasn't easy, but Moore was resourceful. Because she's used to being self sufficent, she can come off as arrogant at times. She lost her brother when the Longren withdrew from the outpost simply because it was too far away from their purview. She believes he is dead, though it was never confirmed. Surviving with other street-rats, she was eventually picked up by some federation officers as they eventually absorbed the outpost from the Longren. They sent her to a proper school and made sure she was leading a law abiding life. Before graduation from the academy, she did a 2 year transfer program with the Longren people and fell in love with her heritage all over again. With the Longren, she learned to conquer her residual traumas and channel them into a productive use. Coming back to the federation a new woman, she finished her officer training and demanded to work on a Longren ship. While her request was initially denied, she never gave up the goal. When she was promoted to Lieutenant commander, she finally received her wish to work with the Longren military, as on old friend from academy had recommended her for the officer exchange program. And thus she found herself aboard the Minx as second officer.

    Character: Genzi Novdo
    Species: Longren
    Age: 37
    Rank: Commander
    Department: Medical
    Alignment: Wintrean Federation
Appearance: Warm brown with orange details.
Backstory: Raised on a station on the border of Federation Space, Genzi grew up fascinated by all the different species he encountered. There wasn't much trouble to get into on the station, nor many other kids, so Genzi spent his time helping the personnel where he could to keep occupied. Most of them were more than happy to teach him a bit about their line of work. As he got older, he worked as a nurse aid in the medical wing, and their head doctor would end up sponsoring his application to the Federation Academy on Loxx. From there, he cultivated his interest in medicine, with an emphasis on xenobiology. He worked on the station under the doctor who sponsored him for a few years after completing training, and was assigned to a multi-species ship upon achieving rank. From there he moved from ship to ship as needed, training other doctors in new species with his constantly expanding knowledge. He currently is posted aboard the Minx, training up their medical cadets and serving as interim head of medicine.

    Character: Tabi Vygon
Species: Longren with a mixed heritage
    Age: 28
    Rank: Lieutenant
    Department: Security
    Alignment: Wintrean Federation, Longren Military
Appearance: With fangs looking more like standard incisors you might find on a dog, and scales that somehow poof outward instead of laying flat, it's quite clear that Tabi is not completely Longren. What she is, no one really knows. She has a white and grey coloration, with green tipping her scales.
Backstory: The youngest member of the senior staff after her predicessor was promoted off the ship, Tabi is barely holding it together while she attempts to full the massive shoes he left behind. She's considered too "soft" for a Longren, and is usually very cheerful, except when something goes wrong. Then the staff knows to avoid her like the plague. She was not conscripted into the Longren Military until age 20, two years after she joined the Federation and her potential really started to show. She ended up signing a contract with both of them at 22 after completing her basic training, and now can only work on joint federation-longren ships if she wants to work somewhere for more than six months at a time. In her early years, she got in over her head several times, but thankfully her mentors were somewhat competent and set her back on the correct path every time. She was promoted to lieutenant junior grade at 25, and was only recently promoted to Lieutenant when her predecessor aboard the Minx left. She can frequently be found making jokes with her crew during slow days, as she still thinks of herself as one of them. It hasn't really sunk in that she's supposed to be in charge now. She is always adapting and learning, and is trying really hard to serve out the last two years of her dual contract in one place.

    Species: Fenrir
    Age: 25
    Rank: Lieutenant
    Department: Engineering
Alignment: Longren Military, by oath; Clan Waldläufer, by birth
Appearance: Standing 7 ft 7 in (2.31 m) tall with golden brown and grey fur, his left two eyes are green, right center eye is blue, and his far right eye is violet. He has the signature sturdy frame of a male, and his collar is a chain mesh with a durable metal plate.

Background: Born to parents on the Longren homeworld, he grew up accustomed to the Longren way of life. Hans spent his time tinkering with machines and computers to learn how they work and know how to make rudimentary repairs. Upon reaching the age of 18, he enlisted in the Longren military to be trained as a ship engineer. Through diligent studies and hard work, he became highly skilled as an engineer aboard Longren ships. As he was out on missions, he began to grow lonely despite getting along well with his crew mates. He attempted to show interest in relationships with the females aboard the ship, but he was turned down by each of them. Eventually giving up on pursuing a relationship, he focused more on his career as an engineer. Not long after, he was offered a position as Chief Engineer aboard the CLS Minx which he promptly took. However, he's been warned that the female Fenrir is there for disciplinary action and to not try to get too friendly with her, for his own safety.
