The results are in for what has turned out to be a record-breaking election! In the end, 35 ballots was cast, an incredible showing! This speaks to not only how engaged our Citizenry appears to be in this era of our region, but also to the great slate of candidates that ran. Elections like this are exactly what we were hoping for when we adopted thane elections years ago: elections with candidates that are passionate, knowledgeable, involved, and eager to serve the region. Everyone ran a great campaign, and I think everyone has something to be proud of here. For those who won, congratulations! And for those who didn't, keep trying...you have something to contribute to this region, as shown by all the people who voted for you. Keep getting involved, keep proving yourself, and I know that good things will come...and I will appreciate it, too.

So, there you have it. Kiwi_Kebab, AJ BLarg, and Katie will join the candidates that won by default (Pengu, Excalibur, and Emoticonius in the new Cabinet. Meanwhile, because there has been a tie for Thane of Integration, there will be a second vote started soon between Laurentus and Mathyland that will run for several days to determine that position, so be ready to vote again on that one real soon (like later tonight).

Congratulations to all who won! ^^ I can't wait to see the new faces and roles in the Riksråd!

As for those who lost, do not despair, for a) there's always next time, and b) there's much more to do in Wintreath than get elected to stinky government positions! Consider becoming an ambassador or getting involved with the projects our new thanes start.

This election was so uniquely contested and huge (we have a TIE for Integration for pete's sake), I doubt we'll see one like this again for a long time. Good work everyone!

The second ballot for the tied Thane of Integration position is now complete, with 23 ballots in total being cast (there were no private ballots in this election). Here are the results:

Mathyland has won election as Thane of Integration! Congratulations! This was a very hard fought contest and I'm sure you're going do a great job.

Furthermore, I have seen fit to appoint Laurentus to the Cabinet as a Reconciliation Advisor. As someone who was deeply impacted by the events of the Schism and the Reconciliation, his role will be to help ensure that the lessons learned from those events are instilled into our integration materials and processes, in order to reduce the chance of similar events happening again. I'm sure that his input and counsel on this and other matters will be invaluable, so I'm looking forward to him continuing in the Cabinet in this new role.

Congratulations, Mathy! I look forward to seeing what you do as Thane!
