Hey everyone! It's me again.

I didn't want to run for the Underhusen, but with the elections quickly approaching and only 3 people standing, I felt it necessary to do so. I remain dedicated to the stability and functioning of the Underhusen even outside of it.

I will not be able to dedicate much time to it. I cannot be Officer of Information or Speaker, especially if I win both of my thane bids. But I will say this: I will do my best to make well-informed decisions on votes, voice concerns when and if I have them, and ensure that we are doing good on Wintreath with every bill we pass.

So vote Katie, for Underhusen! We literally need it!

Oh it absolutely is evidence for that. I think with some of our most active members gone, we have to replenish our supply of starry-eyed government members-in-training. That will take a while and I suspect this term will be very slow, if we do anything at all.

In all fairness, we've always (at least in recent history) struggled with promoting interest in the UH and the Government at large, with just enough people running each election, plus one or two more if we are very lucky. This mass departure merely makes matters worse to the point where it's difficult to even get enough people to stand, firstly due to the fact that the majority of those who stand for UH elections are "repeat offenders", so to speak, and secondly due to the fact that this entire controversy has negatively impacted morale across the region. If we are going to get people involved again, we need more new people and more incentives to run.

There's always been a part of me that is curious about what would happen in a Burn-it-Down scenario, but I have yet to see a better alternative proposed. My preference, if we were to change this, would be a lower legislature consisting of all citizens, but this was brought up previously and, if I recall, there were numerous logistical problems we would have to sort through under such a system.

You probably already know that an amendment to transform the Underhusen into an open assembly almost passed some years ago, but I think the stresses of that Constitutional Convention kept anyone from continuing with the idea. Then later on the events at the end of the Celestial Union of Lazarus, with Funkadelia importing voters to perpetrate a coup, spooked those that were in that region from considering that style of system here.

But I guess those are some of the logistical problems you mentioned.
