Resurrecting my old 'we should hold a referendum on the Underhusen' topic, since Laurentus' thing seems to have died out before getting us some concrete evidence for one side of the other of the long-running Burn It Down debate.
I'm assuming this is the appropriate place for it since nobody objected the last time I put it in an election area, and also assuming that since this is the nomination period, the election hasn't actually properly started yet.

Pursuant to my privileges as a citizen who voted in the last election and Article IV, Section 4-6 of the Fundamental Laws, I present this petition.

Preamble
The Wintrean Legislature has a long history of ambivalence towards it, but there is very little concrete evidence of people's feelings one way or another. It is my view that it is time to remedy this.

Reasoning
This initiative is intended to serve as a de-facto referendum wherein citizens may weigh in on the utility of the UH as an institution of our government. This is not intended as an immediate lead-in to a constitutional referendum - rather, this is merely intended as a gauge of public opinion. If the overall opinion is against the UH - it's clearly time for a more serious discussion. If it is for the UH - clearly I'm mistaken. But either way, there is very little clear evidence of people's perspectives on the UH - and this initiative is intended to remedy that.

Goals of This Initiative
Since any initiatives are inherently nonbinding, this is not intended as a means of achieving action - rather, this is intended as a means of ascertaining the overall public mood towards the Underhusen as an institution, and provide justification for either its continued existence, or the basis for a serious regional conversation about changes which can be made to make the institution more relevant, up to and including its complete demolition.

Unfortunately the same bit of the Fundamental Laws sets a 48 hour limit on the validity of petitions.
Which on the one hand is a crying shame, but on the other hand lets me make a big deal about this in/to the UH (depending on if I'm elected or not).
