1) Why are you running for this position?I've been working on the Orendi and other foreign dispatches for over a year. I want to keep the Orendi going and continue it at the high standard of quality which we have achieved.
2) What do you aim to accomplish as thane? As part of this, you must include at least one thing that you promise to do beyond the minimum listed duties of the position during your term. It should be measurable, so that it's black and white whether you fulfilled this mandate at the end of the term if you are elected.I'm going to be a bit more realistic about the release schedule this time:
Orendi XXI: late September
Orendi XXII: early November
Depending on how long Summsersend runs (and how busy I and others are haha), we may push back Orendi XXI: Summersend Special Edition a bit to more satisfactorily cover the events of the festival.
2a) If you are an incumbent running for re-election, did you fulfill your mandate from the September June election? If not, why didn't you?Yes, I believe I am gradually improving my Adobe CC skills (particularly InDesign/Photoshop). I still need to look up how to do things sometimes or ask Hydra for help, either to jog my memory or learn more new things, but I am getting better and pretty much put together the last Orendi myself with Hydra's feedback.
My mandate this term will be much the same as last term, to keep improving my InDesign/Photoshop skills so that I can better contribute to Wintreath in my Orendi work.
If I have time I still have some ideas for puzzles and such in the works that might come together if I'm not too busy (but I'm not making it my mandate as I'm not sure how realistically I would likely have time/energy to fulfill it).
3) What qualifications or experience do you have in the area that you are running in?Blatantly copied from my last campaign post:
Earlier experience:
- Wrote a few articles for Aura Hyperia and Wintreath in 2014/2015
- Put together New Hyperion Update #1 as Lord of Propaganda
Accomplishments as Dispatches Thane over past six terms:
- Put together 7 Orendis, currently putting together 8th
- Working closely with Hydra on redesigning and formatting 6 Orendis in newspaper/magazine PDF format, including formatting two mostly myself with Hydra's help
- Wrote ~16 articles for said 7 Orendis
- Created 2 puzzles
- Successfully bugged ambassadors to post dispatches
I also got an engineering position at my local student-run newspaper this spring. The tech division is quite large, so what I'm doing is pure web development, and here in the Orendi we're doing PDFs, so there isn't much of an overlap here, at least in our current design.
4) How do you plan to have the time to fulfill the duties of the position until the next election in March December?I'm consistently active in the community;
this month for instance I've had second most posts total after Kane and second most non-spam posts after Moot.
I fully expect my activity level to drop once school starts next week. I have balanced schoolwork/extracurricular work and Wintreath work in the past, however, and expect to be able to do so in the coming school year as well.
5) Are you currently a part of any other NationStates regional or organizational government? If so, please include those regions and positions.I am co-founder, Lord of Propaganda, and WACom Delegate of New Hyperion, the Wintreath vassal region.
