  • Maybe that was a little bit too much teeth in the game. :P

The decay rate has been set back to points/30. There may be more experimentations into this later into the game.
I don't think the decay rate is the problem, I think the problem is the decay rate for all regardless of tile activity.  With a malus every hour for people, it penalizes sleeping which I'm unwilling to sacrifice :P

I'd recommend allowing natural decay to tick in after 12 hours of a tile inactivity?  At least, if we're attempting to incentivize maximum point buildup and such :)

Even though I'm not playing this time that was my thought as well. Having both the attack-induced decay and a somewhat less harsh natural decay might be worth looking into.

Yeah the decay without activity is really annoying especially when you sink hours into getting points into the hundreds and they decay by 6 hours later lol

  • My Dear Jean-Luc!
  • @Wintermoot so what's the mechanism for decay control of tiles when all players have decayed to 29?  It doesn't seem to keep the control of the person in the lead (ex:  when I have 45 points which decay over 16 hours to 29, and someone else had 32 and reached 29 first, they appear to get control of the tile and not myself, which is strange)

Additionally, the decay appears to reset legacy for the person it legacy degrades for (ie zM lost tile to me, then both decayed to 29 again, and its back to zM control, listing as registering 2 legacy for zM.)

It says 0 legacy now, should have reset on the display the hour I believe?

Though I think if it's won back by point decay that may be a different matter and it can get glitched out.

  • I believe I've fixed some of the issues related to point decay.

Most of the game determines the owner of a tile based on who has the most points (and who had the tile longest if tied); however, legacy generation depends on who has the most recent owner record in the tile's history, which is generated when someone attacks a tile and subsequently has the most points. In cases where point decay caused tile ownership to change, this record wasn't being created, meaning that the part of the game that determined legacy generation still regarded the previous owner as the current owner. The point decay/generation script now checks tile ownership before and after running, and creates those records if ownership has changed.

I didn't have a chance to add Discord notification of this yet, but I'll try to add that real soon.

Yes! Finally. I've been waiting since January for this bug fix. :P

    Thank you so much.

(Though now, gaining tiles by point decay is now definitely 100% the preferred option due to it actually working and not having a notification.)

Yeah I think that the point decay regardless of tile activity has created a game where every player has 29 points on every tile xD
