So as a check in for things that I'm doing on the server personally (at least to some extent).

So I've begun working on remodeling my base and with that including an elevator. (I'll be posting screenshots soon), but work on the Elevator has been the most important to me. The elevator itself has a computer setup on each floor (connected by modems), connected to a central computer to control the lift. Unfortunately I've been having some issues WRT MFR Rednet cables and Computercraft's Bundled Redstone system and Color API...so yeah.... If I can get it the software working I'll share the source here.

I really need to get on the server sometime soon to get some more Ender pearls...

Hey, I'm thinking about either doing a server reset, or looking at changing the modpack to something more modern (or perhaps trying to update Tekkit to a more recent MC Version).

If the server does get reset could we get the map archived?

If we do a server update could we update the modpack to include industrialcraft 2 I'm lost with the present modpack

IC2 might still work to include for nostalgia purposes, even though its design is kinda outdated at this point.

Buildcraft is in alpha in 1.12 and is still fairly unstable, and shouldn't be used for an actual survival modpack.

I would probably want to include Buildcraft, if only because of automation and nostalgia, also IC2 has changed a lot so it's not really comparable to the one you are familiar with Robin. Further, if I were to update the pack I would probably try to create a more cohesive experience than Tekkit currently is (so that there are no 'technology dead-ends' and everything would (generally) be worth exploring.

A modpack update/change WOULD require a Map-Reset as well (due to new MC version, and different mods). However any map change would be accompanied with a single release of the world at shutdown and a pack of all world backups (which would include the world at shutdown). I wouldn't keep the world away from the community, as it ultimately belongs to the community (as I don't view this as my server, but that it is the community's server, I merely manage it). However a new modpack would probably take some time to setup (and for me to actually do, I haven't done anything like that in years so I would have to learn what is recent and the like).

Buildcraft skipped 1.10, then stopped using RF and had to basically be rewritten from scratch. On the mod page the creator says that the current 1.12 version is for testing purposes and not stable enough for survival play. Most things I think are able to be done better on newer mods also if automation is a concern.

How does IC2 Classic compare to old IC2 play? Of course the main IC2 is significantly different though. Both are in all major modding versions I think.

Also, have you looked into Tekxit and FTB Ultimate Reloaded? Both seem to be intended as updated versions of their respective old modpacks and as a result retain a lot of the nostalgia aspect of older modpacks.

I've always had issues with FTB running properly, and I'm not a bit fan of Tekxit because of the combining of Tekkit and Hexxit (which I'm not a big fan of IMHO).
