Van Helsing had spent the entire day with the new doctor in town and found him to be a wise, delightful fellow. The rumours were indeed true, and he bore a startling resemblance to Jonathan. He would have taken them for brothers, had he not known better. Their appearance was where the similarities ended, though. They were polar opposites in mannerisms. Alucard was sophisticated and had a lot of incredibly rare tomes in his temporary shop. He had discussed all sorts of useful remedies for ailments Van Helsing had faced while going on his long treks, and he had magnificent tomes detailing human biology. He even possessed some Scrolls detailing the history of ancient Egypt and Rome. It was incredibly rewarding to debate philosophy with another learned man in this strange village. So much had the doctor seemed to enjoy Van Helsing's company, that he wanted to host him for dinner, too. Van Helsing was sorely tempted, but could not let anything interfere in his duties. As the sun got low, he left the doctor's company and began walking back to Jonathan.
He was nearly there when he heard a very suspicious sound, followed by a very familiar smell. He began walking in its direction, when suddenly he realised what he was smelling: man flesh, being burned. The sound he heard was that of a fire crackling. He rushed to the scene to find a man who had just recently been placed on a pyre and executed. Next to him, a sign ominously proclaimed: Vampyres, beware. Van Helsing was about to be sick, but he searched desperately for some sort of identifying mark for the poor man. He found it: on the ground, just two feet away from the pyre, lay the town elder's scarf.
"You goddamned fools, what have you done?"
Fortis Scriptor, aka the town elder, has been ruthlessly incinerated by an angry mob and killed. Y'all a bunch of monsters.
And now it's the night phase. Please send me your actions for the night.
