  • Well, I'm pretty sure the wolves have played their hand. Perhaps I can get an epic fight before my death written out for me. That'd be a grand read.

    • To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but eat you he will.

  • Yeah, taulover's another suspect in my book. On top of Wintermoot's previous suspicions, he's being pretty vague concerning me and Aragonn. It certainly seems he's simply defending him. The "voting to avoid being lynched" is a ruse in my opinion.

    Current count:

    4 - Aragonn
    3 - Red Mones

  • Anyway, I simply don't see how Aragonn could be the wolf. We've seen him as a wolf player many times before now, and he always plays to win. Simply letting himself almost die last round was completely out of character and doesn't make sense especially when the wolves have such a numerical advantage right now.
He could very well be doing this on purpose to mislead everyone. It is werewolf after all. The fact that you're not even taking that into account in your arguments makes it seem like your blindly defending him, boosting my suspicion of you, and him, even more.

  • Or I could legit be a villager without investing much time or thought into the game earlier on and just not caring. Perhaps I am a wolf in disguise. Perhaps I could be Van Helsing himself. How far do you wanna go down the rabbit hole?

Right, because being a coin flip away from dying and revealing your identity as a wolf is such a good tactic for misleading everyone. Misleading everyone is all well and good, but first you have to not die. 50/50 odds of dying, when you can change that yourself, is just such an incredibly stupid wolf play that I cannot see any competent player doing.

Honestly, the fact that you're dismissing this obvious evidence out of hand makes it seem like you're blindly attacking him, boosting my suspicion of you even more.

  • I don't understand what you have against me this game, Wintermoot. You've latched onto an obvious mistake I made early in the game due to being busy with real life recently (something I think I've made clear in both my public behavior and private conversations here in Wintreath). Unless, of course, you saw that busy-ness and are deliberately using it against me, in which case, well played, that was definitely a smart move...

Anyway, I simply don't see how Aragonn could be the wolf. We've seen him as a wolf player many times before now, and he always plays to win. Simply letting himself almost die last round was completely out of character and doesn't make sense especially when the wolves have such a numerical advantage right now.
You should consider it a compliment that I have such high regard for your attentiveness and thoroughness that I would consider it out of character that you'd miss something. People latch on to suspicious things because it's all people have to go on, and I thought it was the most obviously suspicious thing in the game.

You said that Aragonn always plays to win, but earlier you said that he was possibly busy or not too invested in the game...would he still play to win if he wasn't? That's what your vote is about...you're not really voting to lynch Red Mones, you're voting to specifically to defend Aragonn.

Yes, and I thank you for that, which is part of why I said I was impressed that you were using my activity in this way against me this game. However, if I am to take this suspicion in good faith, I am somewhat disappointed that you'd think that my meticulousness would suddenly disappear were I the wolf. Indeed, I'd think the opposite to be far more likely.

I hope you can see why I don't really follow your line of reasoning here, and why this is factoring into my own suspicions of who might be the vampires.
You said that Aragonn always plays to win, but earlier you said that he was possibly busy or not too invested in the game...would he still play to win if he wasn't?
Exactly my point. Because Aragonn plays to win, that means that he wouldn't have done that illogical action last round, unless he's just a villager and was possibly busy and/or not too invested in the game.

I mean, yes, I think I made that quite clear when I voted.

  • Sorry, guys, I was at work when this phase was supposed to end, so I'm going to disregard all votes that happened after the deadline.

Van Helsing was devastated by the loss of his final ally. There was no way that Jonathan could possibly have survived, so he had honestly given up hope.

The young drunkards had now openly began assaulting those who they found suspicious, so it came as no surprise to him when word reached him of another unsuccessful burning taking place. This time, it was spurred on by an envious man who could not have the woman of his dreams' hand in marriage. Out of spite, he had accused the young lady of summoning demons, and this was all the proof the town needed these days.

Van Helsing felt it his duty to say a prayer by the young girl's dilapidated corpse. He could not track down any of these vampires, so all of it ultimately came down to his own failures. "Go with God, my lady. No more shall any of these fools trouble you. You died far too young, and died far to cruel a death. Perhaps these vampires truly are God's way of punishing us." Van Helsing could not think of anything else to say, so much as with Mina, all he did was place a rose by the woman's corpse, and began digging her a makeshift grave. He would not let these cretins parade her corpse like this.

A plain village girl, aka Red Mones, has been lynched, and so heralds another night phase. Seeing as this brings the count down to 4 vampires and 5 villagers, and seeing as there is no possible way for the village to defend itself, I think I can actually go ahead and write the closing post for this game, unless anyone wishes to object?

Had I known this, I wouldn't have changed my tactics toward the end there, but as it turns out the outcome remains the same, doesn't it?

Well...that's a shame. I guess I was wrong though. If Aragonn isn't a wolf, and Tau was defending him so much....Tau, are you Van Helsing?

  • I'll write a post tying everything up tomorrow, but please join me in congratulating the vampires:

    1. @Pengu
    2. @Wintermoot
    3. @Almonaster
    4. @Kane lives

I will also provide everyone with the actions taken on each night phase tomorrow as well.

You fought hard, townies, and Van Helsing was played by none other than @North, who also happened to be in contact with @Aragonn and @taulover.
