Bio: Though now the patriarch of one of the most powerful noble houses in Wintreath, Gerion was born a commoner. With hard work, ambition, and charm, he quickly climbed the social ladder, holding an array of positions in the government and military at one point or another. A few years ago, he was made a noble and the Count of Janth and so founded the Noble House of Burdock. Along his career, he has gained the support of many minor houses who view him as a self-made man loyal to the Crown; others, however, view him as a power-hungry upstart. Though a master of none, Gerion is an accomplished politician and administrator and a competent military tactician.

Bio: Marinia Laurentus Valeria was born the 4th son of the prominent Valeria family. He rose to the ranks of Chancellor, second only to the Autarch in his original home country of New Hyperion. He has a reputation for being ruthless, but also being a capable statesman who had brought life to many an ailing ministry under his charge.

Like his brothers, he had emigrated to Wintreath from the South, originally holding citizenship in both countries, and made his trade as a ruthless banker. He quickly caught the eye of the monarch, and was elevated into the major nobility after his innumerable services to the country.

Although not the patriarch of his House, he was given the city of Highever to rule over.

He comes across as very affable and polite, but in reality, he is a scheming, ruthless politician always looking for the weaknesses of those around him, so can manipulate them into doing what he wants.

Despite his cold, scheming nature, he governs his people fairly, and is greatly respected, if not liked.

Bio: One of the less fortunate members of the Valerian family as well as one without a noble title, Malediction (Mal for short) learned independence and self-reliance from a young age. While growing up in the North other children formed cliques and made enemies and engaged in the behavior of typical children. Mal, instead, watched. He watched and, when necessary, nudged events in just the right way to get the outcome he wanted. Many a student learned the hard way not to cross Malediction.

When he reached adulthood he turned his meager allowance into a small fortune through careful investment and subtle market manipulation. Recently, however, he has focused his attentions on a small town that no one had ever heard of and that most people could not find on a map. His vision for the small farming community is unclear but definitely grand.

While not enemies with his family his relationship with them can best be described as cordial, especially with his father who spent most of his childhood exploring the world. If push came to shove how much loyalty his family inspires in him may be questionable.

While relatively wealthy Malediction tends to dress modestly, typically wearing plain tunics with dark plain tabards. His plain, pale face, average build, dark brown hair and unassuming manner makes it easy to forget him when he wants to be forgotten.

However, certain...rumors follow Malediction around. Rumors of murder, kidnapping and torture. All nonsensical claims by jealous rivals, says Malediction. But stories of a dark cloaked figure wearing a bright carnival mask with a psychotic grin and reports of missing travelers have dogged him wherever he goes....

[I hope this is ok. I kinda spliced what we had before with what I envisioned for Malediction. It's all rather malleable now so if anything is not canon I can change it.]

An' trust me, theres a reason the call him "Cin" Known to many a girl and plenty a bar, Dima drinks around and sleeps around, the only thing implicating his nobility being the clothes he wears and the coin he spends. However, as his words are his weapons, his lies and discreteness is his strongest application of force, running several....less than savory businesses of his own, including smuggling and dealing of illegal items, not to different than any mob, but his freelance nature could come to bite him in the ass, or rise him to greatness. You meet this sly bastard, you made a hell of a drinking partner, but make sure to watch your back..." *Schunk* A man in a black and red coat, Dima Valeria himself, walks around the man, pulling a knife from his back. I'd like to know more about the theming in this, both in terms of names (e.g. I wouldn't want to have an 'Aerith and Bob' sitaution) and in terms of subject matter (is there a strong religious element? is there ANY religious element? is it monotheist or polytheistic?) before I commit to a character.

Bio: Aragonn was born the third son and was quickly overshadowed by his brothers. Proving to not be as talented at politics and such as his kin, he quickly fell out of favor with his father. However, having his talented vision for weapons and armor designs, he found work in his youth at the local armory crafting weapons and armor to fill out orders by day and improving designs for weapons and armor during his off hours at night to prove his abilities. After some time, his efforts were given recognition by the higher-ups, and he acquired his desired role of weapons and armor design. He was tasked with making general improvements to the equipment issued to the guards as well as crafting custom designs for various nobles in the area. He gathered many years of experience in this before his younger brother rose to power. And with his brother's rise to power came a new opportunity for him. House Valeria had been given Noble status, and control over the operations of the armory were handed over to Aragonn. With this he gained much wealth and free time to learn how to use the weapons he crafted as well as a few other useful skills. However, with the indulgences fulfilled, Aragonn has returned to working more as part of the armory. And this time his leadership has a more hands-on approach.

Out of curiosity, can you be a neutral mercenary, fighting for whomever pays most? If so that's what I'll roll with. If not I'll pick a side.

There could be a discrete business arrangement between our two characters which allows your character access to some higher grade stuff my character sells but for a steep cost to whoever it's getting sold to. Chances are the buyer is only going to Cin because he/she can't get the weapons any other way.

Possibly. Gotta help the family right? Btw what do you mean by "higher grade" given the time period?
