This is why the official server has few mods...trying to manage just a few is enough for me.

But Winty, I'm extreme. Right now I'm satisfied with the amount and quality of mods in the pack, but I fear this pile of garbage will melt the CPU before it tries to run a server.

Yeah that's why you have to keep it simple and only go with the SUPER necessary ones... like industrialcraft.  Without oil and custom tools what can you have now, really?  (I forget which mod that is though... basically everything in Jaffa Factory Yogscast and the Ballistic Missile one=necessary )

Normally I'm running modpacks three times the size of this one, but then again I don't check to see the CPU temp. But when I do it's always around 100 degrees celsius regardless of what it's doing. Thanks HP for designing a shitty ventilation system!

Originally I did consider that, but I figured trying to communicate with the host on mod updates and keeping up with a service bill(Unless there's a free hoster out there?) would be a lot of work.

Granted trying to put it together on my computer is probably even more work.

WARNING: I have been unable to test ingame compatibility. I know that the mods load without conflict or critical error due to missing dependencies. But I have been unable to get the game to launch. I receive this error message after forge has finished all of its setup steps:

Error: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I have taken steps to allocate more memory but I have been unable to finish launching the game.

If someone knows a good fix that would be awesome. Or if someone could load and run the modpack on a computer with far better specs that would be wonderful.

Ooh this is a laptop?  How hard is self-hosting?  (I believe my specs are... a little... beefier )  Also in theory it could be up constantly but I'm not sure XD

I was actually looking at and I was liking Apex Hosting that Technic recommends. I'm pretty sure someone with a better computer can run it and hopefully open it.

I also noticed the issue expanded beyond the original trouble and even when I roll back mods to the Flans Update I still get the error message, so I might have just broken Java in general.

That is a much beefier computer... I don't think it's really all that hard to self host, I'm pretty sure if you download the server version from minecraft's website it probably has a step by step walk through.

The only difficulties are 1. getting Bukkit/Spigot, 2. getting mods installed,  3. maybe port forwarding, depending on your router's interface. Pretty simple regardless though.
