Afrikaners also have a distinct fascination with guns, but that was actually at a paint ball shop. My game face didn't help much when the paint balls started flying.

Those are actually air rifles that work with very soft bullets that burn like hell when they make impact, but can't kill you.

I've only played Airsoft once, against a team of pros that absolutely destroyed my team. I think I'll stick with paintball in the future, thank you very much. 

And I would not want to mess with that cat.

The guns look so real, though...it looks like a real gun shop.

I've never been inside a real gun shop, but I'd imagine assault rifles wouldn't be a thing in a South African gun shop. Hunting rifles and .45s are about the most powerful guns someone can legally own here, I think, unless you work for a private defense agency.

The most powerful rifle I've fired was an elephant rifle.

It doesn't sound like a good idea to have people running around with automatics. Is that the way it works in America?

No.  I will pull up the firearms law later but America is not as crazy with guns as some will make you to think, nor is it easy to get a gun.  Regulations vary per state vs. federal regulations.

I think "easy to get a gun" is a pretty relative concept. 

Compared to other nations, America has an absolutely ridiculous amount of guns. Ask most people in the nation, and they really don't notice. Its a cultural thing.

There are kind of a lot of guns, and it is pretty easy to get a gun... My roommate just bought a shotgun and not counting driving it took 25 minutes...

Go to an airsoft store, then a gun store.  There are differences.   The Orange tip being one of them.
