King Erik, the head of the nation of Beautifulthing, walks to the podium.

"Citizens of the Wintreath Region.  I would like to announce my bid for a seat in the Underhusen. 

Upon election to this seat, I will work on giving all citizens a voice in the creation of laws and the review and change of laws.  I will, also, work on making sure the Underhusen meets regularly to review and submit new laws.

I will now open the floor to any questions the citizens have..."

What do you plan to do if you are elected?

Also do you recognize the potato as the one true god?

As previously stated I will try and give a bigger voice to citizens by holding a fireside chat and checking in with citizens.

Also, try and arrange the Underhusen to meet on a regular basis. Allowing the Underhusen to review and create new legislature.

And, I recognize people to worship how they seem fit.

What do you feel has been the biggest failure of the Wintrean government in your time here so far?

Well, I think there is an opportunity for the government to be more active with the citizens.  As an example, I have not met or interacted with a majority of the government officials.  I do believe that I have given them a chance to do so, as well.

An acute observation from one of our newest Citizens...any particular government members you would like to call out or praise?

Well Wintermoot, you are always available, just as is Chanku.  You two and HannahB have been very welcoming.

I have no idea who most of the rest are really.

Well, Hanna, all very good questions. 

As for your first question, I think that there is a lack of activity in the UH and the OH.  I think that the member should be seen more interacting with citizens in the forums and the threads. I know as a new nation here in the Wintreath Region, I have had little dealings with the government.

I am referring to the fact that the majority of our RMB users don't interact much with the forum or Government in any way, and the forum and government don't interact with the RMB or the WA too much.

I think that this is something that need to be brought together.  It is sad that there is such a division.  I intended to try and work on that.

First very good question, I think that the ability for the overruling is one that is put in place for a good reason.  The reason of checks and balances.  A way to ensure that there is equal power distributed between the two husens of government.

I believe that yes the OH should be able to introduce legislation as well and then once it has passed there, the UH should then take a vote on it.  This way it is a two way street between the two bodies of the legislative branch.

And last question: How do you think you might increase the bond between the citizenry and the government? Specifics would be appreciated.

I am thinking of setting up fireside chats for the citizens to voice their opinions and to allow them to bring forward ideas they have for legislation.  I, also, would like to mail the citizens and get some one on one dialogue going with them.
