You're cute sometimes...like with the what happens if you do/don't vote Pengu slides.
In the recent Open Assembly Amendment, we saw a lot of people vote against it without being part of the Convention process that brought it about or the subsequent discussion on how to change the amendment to more people's liking. Where do you see the problem being here, and how would you work to fix it?
Personally, I actually didn't see too much of an issue until we were discussing it in IRC and in some of the things that Weiss highlighted in his thread. Even then, though, I support the idea of an OA...but more in the style that Wuufu pointed out that his region does...especially since it sounds as if it's doing fairly well there, and I'd want to see that same success here in Wintreath if we go through with such an option.
I think the problem I see is more in fear of being able to really express an opinion. As the convention itself showed, there were problems deeper than the OA itself that need to be fixed. We have some very outspoken people on here, but we also have some of the very opposite as well. I'm not going to point out any names in respect of confidentiality, but I've spoken to people who were afraid of saying anything against the proposal because of the overwhelming support it had, and were even more hesitant to speak when the outspoken members began to speak up even more...and pretty much decided to retire their opinion for good when those same members started to get defensive when others did start to vote against it.
It's nothing against them, but if we want a successful OA, we have to be able to embrace and welcome the changes. If something we proposed gets suddenly shot down, we have to be able to not take it so personally and be able to recover from it without becoming bitter and upset about it. It's not easy, no, but if we DO go about the route of an OA in any form, that's going to end up being the norm since we're opening that path to anyone and everyone that wants to take part. If we're showing that we can't handle it before the OA itself is even established, then it's going to fail, and it's going to have the opposite effect and divide us as a region...something we really don't want to happen.
You claim you're patient but that is false.
I'm sorry to say this, but if you were patient you would never ignore me when I need to speak to you, or ask you a simple question as you seemingly refuse to answer @Pengu.
I am a patient person. I would never ignore anyone and I would answer people's questions the FIRST time and not avoid them.
Avoidance is a poor psychological way of handling things, instead of handling them directly like a mature, assertive adult.
Everything you say against someone is something that you yourself suffer.
*You say you're respectful, but you will pester and harass someone into oblivion until either they agree with you or sympathize with you. A respectful person would ask their question, and if not met with a response would drop the topic and move on.
*You say you're patient, but going back into that first point, you will ping someone constantly and beg for likes when they don't to respond to you within seconds. You'll also query them into oblivion, again within seconds without getting a response. These are the exact opposite of patient approaches. A patient person would ask their question, and then leave it alone if they don't get a response.
I'm sorry to say that you're neither of these Gov. Let me state my reasoning for ignoring you, in detail:
*When I first joined, I tried to work with you. I believed you were genuinely being mistreated and attempted to work with you and speak to others on your behalf. When others would badmouth you, I even stood up for you because I believed you deserved a chance. However, one tiny little instance completely changed that, and suddenly you went into full venom towards me and started your silly disliking post spree.
*At one point, you constantly pestered and harassed me for answers to something I
directly told you countless times I wouldn't answer. Yes, Gov, when someone tells you that they're not wanting to answer something, that's called being direct. It's not dancing around an issue or anything, it's actually telling you to stop. And this has been an ongoing thing with you for quite some time, and even sparked that one tiny instance mentioned above.
*At the point where I asked you and even
warned you in the above mentioned area that I would take action if you continued, you still did. See the Complaint against Govindia thread of course for the rest.
*Even in that instance, and you can ask the UH/OH at that time that I tried to be completely fair with you on that whole instance. I went for the route that I thought would honestly be more fair to you because it would be a vote of the two different branches of government (and would have to pass in both), as well as give you a chance to appeal. At that time, the courts were deemed the worst option because, as the trial with Chanku Vs. Myself showed to where I was picked as a judge despite being the defendant...it could have, and very well would have been unfair to you since it was seen as a literal anything-goes skewed type of deal.
*Throughout the revocation, you were nothing but vile to me, and even after talking to Tatte and backing out of it, you still remained so. I actually had to take a leave of absence because you were being so vile and not letting up despite the fact that it was over. Hell, you even tried to convince Wintermoot to ban me from Wintreath!
*Sometime after, we sat down and had a talk and had a brief truce where we agreed to work on our differences and trust. And for a time we did. However, you decided at one point to be a complete jerk once more during a
completely sensitive matter and even tried to break the confidentiality of others...to the point that you kept bringing it up in the IRC without any regard of anyone in there possibly being involved in it. You kept pressing about it in chat and in query, even after my constant asking you to drop it because it was a confidential matter. Your response to me at one point was:
<Govindia>: You're not an admin or an interior Jarl, you're just Culture Jarl.
Which frustrated me to my very core. I may be "just" a Culture Jarl, but my job tasks me with working to help bring people together and assure them that the place they're in is a welcoming, warm region. When someone like you pops in and tries to be a White Knight while being completely disrespectful both in the chatroom and query, it has the complete opposite effect. It makes people not even want to talk in the chatroom, because it's such an awkward and rude subject to even talk about.
And when you're touting about how much I said I would work on my issues (when really,
it is a two way road), and then saying something like that, it's downright insulting, and I don't want to waste time talking to you. Especially since every time I talk to you, you go off on some tangent or tantrum. Though, when I ignored you, you still went off on some tangent/tantrum at one point about how I was mocking you. News flash: You're on ignore Gov. I don't see what you're saying (though I do get to see what others say, and then hear about it later). Mocking implies that I see everything you're saying and am twisting it on you for fun. But that's impossible when I have you on ignore and am simply having a pleasant chat with others in the room.
Again though, everything you've stated to me applies to you as well. Harassment is piss poor way to get what you want, instead of understanding that
not everyone is required to answer you and moving on like a mature, respectful adult.
That's all I'm saying on this. If you wish to respond, please take it to PM, as I've answered all I'm going to on this matter in my campaign thread.
Thank you.
