Right now, we have RPs that are compelling and immersive, and beautifully written. They're full of adventure, death, destruction, love, beauty, and other such fun tidbits.
But they're just so downright
serious!What if you're not wanting to take part in such a serious, compelling, thoroughly detailed story-driven roleplay? Well then it's time to inject a little comedy in between.

Welcome to the Comedy Olympics, where our games are guaranteed to bring both applause and laughter at the same time!
From duck shaving, to duck bowling, to synchronized duck swimming, to duck tossing, these Olympics have it all. Did I mention that we had ducks? Because we do...we LOVE ducks.
But ducks aren't all that are in these games. Contestants will be doing the 2 mile Silly Dash, Tickle-fighting with different objects, and other such competitions.
While you're waiting to compete, you can practice your skills in the Laughatorium with other athletes.
For you see, the winner of each event will win a gold medal as well as a grand prize at the end for the winner of the most medals. Come play our Olympic games!

Oh god, I finally made it through! Listen to me, you all have been duped. These olympics may seem all fun and games, but they're not. Jeez...I wish I could have found you before you signed up, but I guess now there's no going back. You'll have to make it through these games and hopefully find a way to escape from this place!
My name is Franklin Dresch. I was once an "athlete" that was tricked into joining these games with the promise of that "Grand prize" at the end. But the problem is that the games never end. They seem like great fun for a while, but they never stop. You're forced to go through beyond exhaustion until you drop dead and are replaced. If you refuse, they inject you with something that makes you happy and compliant.
I was lucky to have found a way to escape before that happened to me. I can't say the same for my friends. As suggested, this would play like like a regular RP. People would talk and interact with each other when there's not an event in session, normally in the Laughatorium. Whether it be just friendly banter, doing comedic things to prepare for events, or anything of the like, this would be where all the interacting happens.
At random points in the RP, an event (marked with
*~*~*~*EVENT TIME!*~*~*~*) along with a description of the event and surroundings will appear. Contestants would participate in that event, again, as they would in a normal RP style. Likewise, spectators would watch, comment, etc... like someone normally might if they were watching the games. After a set amount of time, the event would end (marked with
*~*~*~*EVENT OVER!*~*~*~*) announcing who won that competition, and giving them their prize for that event. And the cycle would go back to the athletes being in the Laughatorium/other designated areas.
After each event, you'll be given one of the clues that Franklin mentioned. Once you've found enough of them (transmissions from Franklin will be much less interrupted), you'll be able to bypass the Events (though they'll still be happening) and figure out a way off of the strange area.
But will you be able to make it out of the Comedy Olympics before you laugh yourself to death?
