  • This was tried once before, and since activity has been increasing, I wanted to gauge interest and try this again.

For those who have never seen the Got Talent show (America's Got Talent, Britain's Got Talent, China's Got Talent, etc...), Wintreath's Got Talent takes a leaf from those.

Basically, as the name implies, it's a Talent show...or a contest in this case.

Contestants would submit an entry showcasing a talent of theirs...ranging from acting, to singing, story writing, comedy, cooking, and so on.

If it's something unique and extraordinary (definitely watch some episodes of the show to see what I can mean on this), it's encouraged as an entry, and the only limits are that it's something that is a serious showcase of your talent (rather than "joke" entries like making a PB & J sandwich), and that if it's a video, it's something that anyone on the forums can watch (aka, it's appropriate and SFW).

Entries could be in video form (for non-literary entries such as showing you can cook), audio form (for music entries, for example), or written form (for literary entries like poetry, screenplays, or the like).

There would be 3 judges to oversee the competition, and they would judge the entries.  Depending on the amount of entries, it could be a one-time thread where a winner is chosen right at the end...or it could play out like the show where a number of chosen entries would move on to the next round of the game, and go in an elimination style.

There would be one winner in the end of course, but people would be encouraged to check out everyone's talents and skills, giving everyone great exposure and encouraging them to keep at it even if they didn't win.

Does this sound like something people would be interested in?  If there are more people wanting to see it as a spectator, I'll hold off a bit longer...since this is something I'd want to see many people jump into as a contestant if the interest is high enough.
