What are your thoughts regarding Steam? Do you use it? Do you have an account you'd like to share with us so we can be your friends?

I use Steam pretty much as my main gaming marketplace and platform anymore. Before I started using Steam, I pirated games, but the prices are so reasonable now if you wait for sales that I haven't even bothered with that in years. I now have 48 games, and I haven't spent more than $17 on any one of them...compare that to $60 for a new or even old and popular game. Many I've scooped up for less than $5.

Suffice to say I'm a huge fan of Steam. And yes, if anyone wants to be friends on there that would be awesome...my username is wintermoot on there as well.

My thoughts regarding Steam are that I don't use it anywhere near as much as I should do considering I've had it for like a year and a half now.

Daylen Phoenix is my Steam name if anyone wants to add me. I only have three games on it though: DCUO, Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers and Team Fortress 2. I'll happily play any of those with people.

Oh and for the record: I don't do Minecraft. Ever.

And I don't HATE it exactly, just... it's not for me. I don't have a creative bone in my body and nothing would irritate me more than to be tasked with creating something from my own (poor) imagination. I've seen enough vids of people playing it to know I wouldn't last very long 'playing' it.

Meh, most of the videos are of extravagant things that most people don't actually make in-game. To be honest, most people make themselves a house and maybe a few other dwellings. I'm not very creative and I like it just fine.

I admit, I've seen vids where a couple of friends plan to make a big structure together. They looked like they were having a lot of fun and I did enjoy watching them (if only cos I thought they were nice guys). But it yet further made me realise that I wouldn't feel comfortable playing it. Even being tasked to 'mine oar' or some such would bore me silly.

I still think you should at least give it a try.

Minecraft isn't really about mining ore or building extravagant things if you're not into that. Minecraft is what you make it, and also doubles as a really good social game if you can get a few people playing on a server at once. And you don't have to point and click to move around! I know you hate that.

Minecraft is what you make it? So like... an excuse to socialise? Isn't that what forums and chatrooms are for?

LoL has forced me to become okay with 'point and click to move' now. Just.

Since I absolutely love Team Fortress 2, I of course have Steam. It's an awful application with many flaws and bugs, but it is the easiest way to buy games without having to move your ass, so I kind of accepted it.

Add me on Steam if you want to. I also play L4D2, Borderlands 2, and I will probably buy Space Engineers in the next weeks.

I'd be neat to play TF2 with others, and I know Horse puts together games on occasion...at horrible times for me, but probably better times for you.

Yes! We need an official TF2 Wintreath gaming night! Possibly even twice a week, hosted by different people if needed, to make sure everyone gets a chance to play. Maybe people could suggest games that others might want to play too?

In fact, I propose a seperate sub-forum entirely for games and gaming in general (as a Region or individually).

If more people are in support of it, I would love pursuing a TF2 night

Maybe somebody should create a Wintreath Steam Group?
