Hey Ras, when did Harold Arsin become a candidate?

To answer the first question, I'm pretty sure he declared himself one. As for another question, I'm not sure what you mean by having a nation provide a speaker. Would the Union not just elect a Speaker out of their own delegate body? That is, is the Speaker not one of the delegates? All I had heard of the matter is that "staff of the Wintrean Union must renounce their home citizenship". But that doesn't prevent the Speaker from also being a delegate.

Thing is, what I need from the Speaker is 3 things.

First, I control them.

Second, they are non-partisan.

Third, I must understand their character.

If we pick a current delegate, one of three things will happen.

1) I take control of the character and whoever the delegate was controlled by has to get a new delegate.

2)They become Speaker and Delegate and I cannot control them.

3)They just become Speaker and I also lose control.

All 3 outcomes are not particularly desirable.

Oh you had meant Sunday your time? Forgive me, I was going to post a vote... eventually... but I hadn't realized that I was so far behind Singapore time. In fact, it's already Sunday back home, and that's already a thirteen hour difference from you. Given I'm in California right now, it's another two hours. It's fine, though, and sorry. I'll continue on as normal.

I was probably going to vote for Arsin as the only non-McAllen candidate, but knowing my delegate's tendency to be a bit of a pushover, will at least try to get along with the new Speaker, and could have possibly been convinced to vote for him "if necessary". My delegate ought to form an amicable relationship with the new Speaker, despite the initial claims of "arrogance". If anything, the fact that our countries border each other may prove advantageous, even though Mr. McAllen isn't truly a Northern representative anymore.

Hm... I might make my ethnic rebel groups a bit more communistic if that's the case. Nothing like some good old-fashioned proxy civil class wars fueled by ethnic tension.
