Why would Romulans be concerned with a planet that they're going to lose? Better to destroy the planet's crust and the Aesir invasion force. Unless it's a Romulan planet, of course... (I'm not kidding when I say they're Xenophobes. That part of the Romulans I've decided to keep in. It makes so many episodes of Trek awesome... )
