Seriously though, I'm sorry to say that sex is never far from any guy's mind (and if they claim otherwise they're lying), but there are decent guys out there that won't act on their thoughts and be a perv right up front. It just takes longer to find them then it takes to find guys that'll just take anything. I could score a hookup with a random guy anytime, but finding good boyfriend material? Not having much luck there.

But it is worth waiting for someone that's worthy of you...too many people settle and end up unhappy because they just wanted someone...anyone.

It's happened before.

From experience, I've come to the conclusion that it's better to be single than to settle. You have to believe that you're worth someone that's good for you and that you really want...it boils down to self-worth.

the important thing is that you do you, and people worth your time will enter your life, and then you can evaluate their status as 'Good Boyfriends' or not
key to note here: generally speaking your friends and family are better judges of character than you are as to Good Boyfriend status, because you've got rose-tinted glasses on and you're not seeing clearly, take their judgment into consideration, like for real, which seems obvious until you're in that situation and then suddenly no, everyone is just an asshole and doesn't understand, which is wrong, you're just in a state of pheromonally-induced delirium and these people are not fucking high on pheromones, I cannot stress this enough
coincidentally, that is the leading cause of Wintermoot's observation that people are willing to settle: being high on pheromones is the fucking shit, of course people are willing to settle for that, until it wears off ~1.5 years in and you start jonesing for a new high

of course if this never happens then clearly nobody is worth your time and you should begin plans to work at the CDC in order to gain access to smallpox, and genetically engineer it into ending human civilization in a misanthropic holocaust of agony and misery
I'd go with 'largepox', good solid brand name there, really suggests its a way bigger deal than just plain old smallpox
if you go with that plan clue me in so I can get in like a bunker or something though, I've got a long ass steam backlog to burn through before I'm cool with dying of largepox

It's happened before.

There's no objective 'good boyfriend' or 'bad boyfriend'. A boyfriend that is bad for you could be good for someone else, and a boyfriend that's bad for someone else could be good for you. Hang out with groups that have similar interests. If you have girlfriends, rely on them to help you suss out the good for you from the bad for you. If you don't have girlfriends, find some if you can, they are really really helpful for this kind of thing.

You're still so young, society will mix you up and toss you about and you'll come into contact with all sorts of guys and eventually something will click. Just take it slow and be careful. You're a lady, you get to be as selective as you please. There's really no rush.

The smallpox thing was mostly because that's what, like, every single world-ending engineered virus ever is. If not that, then they've taken like, sequences from it or something to incorporate into Anthrax or Ebola or fucking swine flu or something.
And, I mean, there's two places in the world you're gonna be able to get smallpox from, either the CDC or VECTOR. CDC seems easier, unless you're not only a virologist, but one fluent in Russian too.
Russian's like...idk, 4 classes minimum. Ain't nobody got time for that and a doctorate in virology.

I was looking, and I haven't seen a thread like this, so I'm going to propose a thread for the Howling Wind Tavern: "How Extra Are You?" Basically personal stories of going above-and-beyond for totally pointless reasons, like the one above.

I, for one, am not sure my girlfriend would be alright with that. 

Seriously, I know waiting sucks, and I hate America's culture for the "random dick pic + groping is okay in my book" thing, but good things come to those who wait. I wouldn't have met who I am with today without this random trip that happened involving the band and choir at my school because we aren't common in any other way, really. What I'm saying is, in all likelihood the person for you will come sooner than you think. If not, there's plenty of years ahead.

And what some other people are saying about getting some girlfriends, that's a really nice idea for going places with and for helping you find The Right One^TM.
