People who still live near you and move in the same circles as you?

I don't know. Maybe there just formed a gap in your communication with these people as time went on. I've had many relationships just sort of end, and the reasons are there when I look really far back, and often times when I realise something is wrong, we've already reached a point where things seem impossible to fix. I'm only 22, nearing 23. I imagine it happens more often as people get older, get jobs and become incredibly busy.

Still, I have a few friends who I've had since childhood, and not all my ex-girlfriends have left my life.

One of the most awkward, if not the most awkward, parts of NS is being locked in a bunk with 9 other buff attractive guys who walk around all sweaty and without shirts on and hiding your raging hard on.

Dammit, this is causing me more grief then coming to terms with my sexuality did.

Yeah, but it sucks that at the very least someone you've known for years and that you talked to very often wouldn't as much as tell you why they apparently want nothing to do with you. I guess that's what gets me...I thought that things were great, but apparently not. Maybe they just found someone better...ah well, such is life.

Anybody else here who doesn't speak English as a mother tongue and spend so much time on the Internet that they're beginning to forget their native language?

I racked my brains for a good 5 minutes yesterday trying to find the French word for "table", which is, amusingly enough, "table".

There are many instances where I just find it more expedient to use the English word for whatever I'm speaking about, even when I'm speaking French with other frogs. Sometimes I'll switch in the middle of a sentence because I just can't be bothered. English is simply easier, it comes more naturally.

Compare that to a few years ago, when I'd visit a few friends in America, go to a restaurant, forget which country I was in and attempt to order something in French. My whole life was in French, everywhere I'd go, anything I'd read or listen to, it would be en français. Now I just read and listen to everything in English, save French authors (I'm not that far gone).

It feels a bit bad forgetting my mother tongue (or maybe I'm just going senile). I used to have an amazing command of the language too. I spoke like an immortel, only with a Canadian accent. Nowadays I don't care. If I don't speak English, I'll speak joual. Things are coming out of my mouth that would never have made it past my brain filter before.

It's not like French is very worthwhile to know these days anyway.

Hopefully it won't be too long.  THe past three days have been irritating as fuck.
