I did go to bed a bit later yesterday than I wanted, but I woke up around 11:30 and noticed my phone was dead. I plugged it in and found out that my friend could hang out. So I got ready and left at about noon-ish.
My friend and I had planned on checking out this Comic-Book shop in my town/city, so we did. It was raining (rather hard) when we got there, so we ran inside. The place itself was okay, but a bit "eh". I mean it would have been great if I were more into comic books, however it looks to be a decent place to go at times, and they also have Monday Night Magic, albeit it's all Standard.
So we left that place, it had stopped raining, and we ended up going to a local game shop that we had been to before (he went there for the first time yesterday and I went there for my 3rd time yesterday). When we got there he bought some Planes Walkers (two Jaces), and some white card sleeves. After that we got into a nice little board game that was being demoed. We played that for an hour or two before it ended, my friend had won. When that was done he needed to take his one of his brothers to their job, so we left to go do that. We also got some food, from Sonic as his brother works there (for the discount of having him there
). We then left back to his house (as he forgot his cards) and returned to the game shop.
There we looked around and watched a few games, and he bought some more cards (along with a few land for me and a new creature card as well). We ended up staying a bit for Board Game Night, and we played one more game for another hour. It was an interesting game, the friend lost (by dieing) in the last round. I ended up (barely) winning, although I am pretty sure my friend stacked things in my favor, which allowed me to win, however I have no proof (it's just that I got the first move in both rounds after that, and he was in charge of distributing the cards. If I hadn't gone first either turn I wouldn't have been able to win). He had to go afterwards so after that we left got some food from Wendy's and he took me home.
All in all we both had a blast, and it was a very fun day. We both relaxed and made a few plans. We will be going back there next week to play some MTG (Modern Format), and me and him are going to try and go to the next block's release thing next Friday at midnight, and probably go either Saturday or Sunday for those events as well (or maybe both). We will probably also go on Friday again as they have draft as well. They have two-headed giant which we are also looking to play. It was probably one of the best days I have had in a while. I had no worries really, I was out and around friends, and we had a great time. We had some nice discussions, including realizing that there were four different events that lead to today. Those events were (in order): Him getting put in Chemistry instead of Physics last year, me and him running into each other while I was out with some other friends (who were also mutual friends) earlier this year (but last school year), and us being put in the same Physics Period, and us doing the Phyiscs Project together. Events one and two were entirely independent, but three was dependent upon the prior too and four was dependent upon the third (and thus dependent upon the prior two). Meaning one small change, and today would have never happened.
