So what type of galaxy will this RP be? I think we should make it an interesting Galaxy instead of the regular spiral.

Can it be used for small ships? Like Mercenary fighters. I want to have some mercenaries for hire. Anyways the khador drive is made of crystals that have the ability to make wormholes (These crystals have a map of the entire galaxy.)

oh well. time to look for other FTL ways.

The introduction of mercenaries does not necessitate a completely different tech system to use on their ships.

FTL is by its nature rather handwavy. Introducing completely different forms of transport with completely different unobtainium requirements to fulfill the exact same purpose makes no sense.

Wormholes in this RP will either be nonexistent, or impossible/extremely difficult to create. They will not be able to be created by small ships with a map stored in a crystal in it.

Non-spiral galaxies tend to look like giant blobs, which is rather boring.

Centaurus A is an interesting elliptical galaxy, mostly because its a combination of both. Ring galaxies also create interesting situations.

Let's just say that it's much easier to make a map of a spiral galaxy. It's also the standard, and considering how I made this as a generic SF RP, I think I will stick to a spiral galaxy.

Spiral galaxy maps would be easier, plus I think that there'd be trouble navigating elliptical galaxies with standard futuristic propulsion systems, but I don't think that we're going that in depth with this, right?

I already have a map (modified from Aura Hyperia/New Hyperion), which Laurentus has suggested would be a good idea to just move over into this RP as well. It's basically a spiral galaxy with a Cartesian grid overlay. The idea is that you can claim squares as your territories, using the coordinate grid system.

This is for showing locations of various nations' territories. I suppose you could make more detailed maps of your own star systems, if you'd like.

So, where is the actual remnant of Wintreath?

It is located near the galactic center (I do not have a map set up yet), centered around the capital planet. Imagine Trantor (and, of course, the remnant of the Empire) or Coruscant.
