    Character Name: Astrogator James Wheeler

    Age: 32

Bio: James was born into a middle-class family in the Democratic Empire of Rationalist Science. He grew up in the Alcubierre province, known for its FTL drive industry. Although he first studied FTL drive engineering, even going as far as attending the University of Science's School of Engineering in Vivaldi, James soon found his calling in navigation. Soon, he joined the crew of an independent freighter, where he saved countless credits in fuel with his knack for plotting short and efficient routes between inhabited sectors.

However, his lack of experience was shown when the freighter was attacked by pirates and he was unable to adequately defend the ship. Due to increasing piracy, the crew was forced to lay off James in favor of a more well-rounded pilot, despite James' considerable astrogation skills. Jobless, James jumped at the chance to explore the frontiers of space and signed up on the USS Enterprise while stuck on Wintreath.

    Role: Pilot

Special: "Kessel run" - strong ability to chart efficient routes, thus saving fuel and travel time.

Accepted. But can you change interstellar to intersector? Currently no one has left the sector of space Wintreath is in. (Although there are a few systems that have outposts/colonies near ours. But it isn't exactly interstellar yet.)

Edited. Do you mean that other systems have traveled interstellar distances, but not Wintreath?

Wintreath has. Its just retained to a small part of space otherwise supply lines would get thin the further you get out. Currently, FTL is a prototype technology and has some quirks. Interstellar to me is able to go star to star for a long time which has only been accomplished now with the USS Wintreath. As seen on the starmap aboard the vessel. (The Starmap only has a small number of systems, with nothing mapped beyond those)

  • Character name: Aíne Hiwat
    Age: 37

Bio: Deeply religious, quiet, very ritualistic praying to the suns and stars every day and night.

He was orphaned at a young age and was raised in a Druidic religious orphanage. When he was 16 decided to go into training to be a Druidic holy healer/Medical Doctor combing traditional herbal cures and cutting edge modern medicine.
Part of his training was connecting with the natural world by surviving and meditating in the wild with nothing for 2 years. He became part of the space program due to the influence of the High Druid order and the Theocratic Government of his nation.

    Role: Doctor

    Special: Connection to the Gods.

His healing is more then just medicine and sometimes rarely, miraculous divine things happen in his healing or in the natural world around him.

P.s I hope my special isn't seen as too god mode. I meant it to be something that happens VERY rarely.

If it happens very rarely, than that's okay. You'll be listed as scientist though, but you can perform as a doctor in that scientist role.

  • I don't know about that. This is a sci-fi. What you've just described is a bit too magical. I would feel better were it some advanced alien tech you pick up at some stage that only rarely works.

  • I don't really have an opinion either way on magical elements in sci-fi. Others can judge that. However, I'd recommend maybe toning down the healing power a bit. I'm fine with the concept, but I'm thinking it should only make the condition less dire, not totally cured or anything. Rare healing powers are fine with me, I just don't like things that could be construed as deus ex machina-esque.

That being said, I have no authority here, these are just suggestions.

  • What I imagine by very rarely is that it has like a 0.5% chance of working. Therefore, it would be so rare, that it would negate its potency to a large extent.

That being said, please join the Guild, Daoine. :P

Lol, anti-religious here.  Some Sci-Fi has religion involved, like the Protoss. I think it'll be acceptable, don't go overboard. And yeah, it'll have to be pretty rare.
