I'm Barnes, leader of Clifta. I've been a member of Nationstates beginning in March and a citizen of Wintreath ever since. I occasionally post on the regional home page, but I'm still rather a newbie seeking establishment within the regional community. I recently changed my profile name from my nation to its leader; I guess you can call that the fresh start. Ask me anything!

Hi! What are your hobbies and how are ya finding Wintreath? :]

Hi and thanks for responding! I really like Wintreath's sense of community and large variety of activities even though I've just been lurking.
My hobbies for now are mostly school-related :p but include playing the cello, captaining my school's math team, and of course the Internet and Nationstates. I also read when I have time: I mostly focus on sci-fi, thrillers, and "the classics".

Do you play video games?

Not really, unfortunately.

I'm curious, have you ever tried your hand at chess?

Thanks Laurentus! I've played a little bit of chess. I used to play fairly often when I was younger; not so much nowadays. Back when I first got my phone I was very excited to download the chess apps and complete the puzzles there.

Point Breeze, I quite enjoyed The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Ready Player One, although those probably sound like clichés. I heard Philip K. Dick was a great sci-fi writer, so I've been wanting to delve into his works, but I'm tied up with school and another book I'm reading at the moment.

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep is good. If you like that then I suggest watch Blade Runner as well. The best film ever in my humble opinion. :]

Thanks for the recommendation. I was probably going to start with that one. Either that or The Man in the High Castle, although that might be more of the "alternate history" genre. Oh well; my brother really liked it so...

I quite enjoyed A Scanner Darkly from Philip K. Dick. The characters in PKD novels are just so real, even in sci-fi settings.

@Bodobol The cello's fun, and I'm first chair cellist in the school orchestra. It's frustrating sometimes, however, because apparently no one wants to listen to the section leader when we're practicing in class. I don't play any other instruments.

@Wintermoot Thank you for your kind welcome! I can't say I have a favourite colour, but I suppose black, silver, royal blue, and green hold soft spots in my heart, and I'm beginning to grow attached to maroon as well. I sound way too much like that person who can't decide and just says "I like every colour!"
