Oh it must be my birthday.  I just realized that by getting Wintreath's Finest last month, it netted me 2 points and put me at 4 total, meaning I can finally grab one of those gold games.

It depends on what points are given for.  For example, I or the Thane of Foreign Releases/Embassies would be the ones to update when people write up Orendi-used articles or hit that ambassador mark.  The latter especially because the FA Jarl/Thane would be the only ones paying attention to the rank updates.
