This line of questioning seems pretty weird to chase seeing as we kept Govindia and don't have him defend against his charges in other regions...
I mean you do you but this does feel unusual to me... Or at the least something that you may want to do in PMs, as drawing someone's dirt into the public when they're just trying to start here is meh...

This is a slightly different case...Gov had such a bad reputation I was able to at least attempt to verify the claims against him before he applied for Citizenship and quickly approve him when I could not get anyone to provide evidence.

I understand that this procedure is...unusual, but the community has the right to know who is joining. I would rather get this settled and have everyone know than make a decision based on private considerations and then potentially have all this come out later on against him if he becomes a Citizen and something happens, or worse, to have him become a target of gossip and fearmongering based on claims from another region that haven't been aired out here. Equinox has already publicly posted in their embassy that they banned him, so it's not like this is unknown. I don't see any reason have closed sessions on Citizenship applications unless it involves information that is actually private.

If Wintermoot thinks that this is best than I am willing to go through with it, but I appreciate the comments.

I apologize for any discomfort that this process is causing you, but I honestly do think it's best to resolve this in public, not only because I don't think it's appropriate for this sort of official process to be conducted via PM (unless it involves classified information), and not just because I think the community (and especially the Storting) has a right to be aware of claims against people wanting to join the community...but because the conclusion will end any speculation of those events here. If things turn out well, it'll be a vindication that you couldn't get if this were handled in private.

I just feel handling this in private would look shady at best. Citizenship applications ought to be open and public, warts and all, not handled behind the scenes.

Oh no, its fine, if my dirty laundry must be aired, I understand. In the spirit of full disclosure, you should know that I'm not really good with people. I... I dont really talk to people much, real life or otherwise. If I step out of line, tell me and I will do everything in my power to make it right.

To answer your question, The Amalyan Quarter is the best place to discuss roleplays. We had a seperate RP area until recently, but I removed it due to inactivity...due to unfortunate events our RPs haven't been active like they used to be. We've also been discussing trying to make RPs more active here...but again, the person that was at the front of that conversation got busy in real life. =/

The process includes disclosing what was said, so yes, said diplomatic correspondence, or at least a summary of it, needs to be public.

So said correspondence includes the "warts and all" you discussed.  To simply not disclose what you learned would go against the notion that this isn't behind the scenes, and I would be more comfortable personally if you explained that here.
