I love the administration of Justice act. I think that manages to split the powers fairly giving Wintermoot enough power to the legislature. This bill is ingenious and is the best possible reform for our justice system. Also, I think that we shouldn't allow people previously acquitted to be tried again. This is unfair to the people and is double jeopardy at its worst.

You say that the region has stagnated; please elaborate.

  Our government has slowed and we often have sluggish sessions of the legislature. This is unacceptable. We are a very powerful region that needs to be able to govern itself. There needs to be a better way. I think we need to have a person who isn't bogged down by inter regional rivalries. It's become intensely sluggish and there needs to be someone who is willing to work without being bogged down by personal relationships.   

I think I can speak for everyone in the current session of the UH when I say we've actually been ridiculously active, and that we've not once allowed ourselves to let things stagnate because of so-called rivalries or personal disputes.

If you mean the government in general, i.e. the Riksrad, well, the UH doesn't have any authority over it. I don't know if the UH can really be seen as part of the executive government, really.

You have come in at the tail-end of the current session while RL obligations take up a lot of our time, and we've not been very active for the last week or so, but I promise you that we've actually had a very progressive, busy term.

Sorry about that laurentus! I feel I can add value to an already great Underhusen. There's always going to be a problem and we need to be there to fix it. That's what I hope to be: a fixer.

Well it's always nice to see a fresh new face wanting to take interest in our government! While you may be a little inexperienced now, what better way to gain the experience than to be on the UH?  I think if you're showing interest in wanting to take part, that's fine enough, and I wish you luck in elections!

In general, our government is more active than most other regional governments. Although there is room for improvement, I was personally a little surprised to hear it described as stagnant. Also not sure what you mean by interregional rivalries...Wintreath is one of the more regionalist regions out there, and we have quite a few people that are only in this region.

To Wintermoot: I was reading some of the other campaign threads and saw some intense flame wars. I may have used the wrong word but what I mean is that many current and former Underhusen members are angry at each other like Obama and McConnell/Boehner. This is toxic to a government.

Disagreements - even intense disagreements - are bound to happen anywhere. Wintreath is no different. There does exist a lot of bad blood, especially since recently with the attempt to revoke Govindia's citizenship, but nothing that has really gone to the point of preventing anyone from doing their jobs properly, or causing stagnation.

But I do agree that many of these 'flame wars' as you put it are completely unnecessary.

EDIT: This brings me to a question. While I admire you for pointing out so many potential problems, how would you go about actually trying to fix them? This is after all the more useful skill to have in the UH.

I don't have connections to people, positive or negative so I won't be held back by relationships. I will support the Administration of Justice act, propose using the Overhusen to appoint Judges and stop the unfair double jeopardy clause in the Code of Criminal laws. Also, if I am elected I will take your ideas. If someone sends me a private message detailing their ideas and I find them good, I will propose them. So, if I get elected, it's like the entire Wintrean community is elected with me.
