   Hello, as most of you should know I am Chanku. I have served in the Storting several times. I have served in several regions, but Wintreath has, and will always be, my home. However Wintreath is not perfect, and there are several issues among them:
     

• A Non-functional Court/Judicial System.
• The state of the Fundamental Laws, among them the failure to include any requirement for statutory laws to pass, only for amendments to the Fundamental Laws and for Overriding an Overhusen veto.

     
    I have several goals for this next session, among them the fixing of the Fundamental Laws, further increasing the transparency of the Storting, fixing any other issues that may arise, and fixing our Judiciary. The way I will attempt to implement these goals are changeable, and are not set in stone. Some of my ideas are admittedly more radical than others, one of my ideas to fix the Fundamental Laws include a whole new Constitutional Convention.
     
    However I can promise this, is that if you do vote for me I will work, to the fullest extent of my abilities, to implement these goals. I will aim to further progress, not only the Storting, but the region.

Also, if anyone has any questions to ask me feel free to ask them.

If you were working to the fullest extent of your abilities, the WHR would actually exist outside of you and Govindia and frequently take part in ops at update; it doesn't, and this is common knowledge.

I have no wish to get involved with a potential personal dispute, I'll just point out that Chanku is actually pretty decent when it comes to law, as he showed with the Citizenship in the New Lazarene/Pacific Order act. Whatever his failings at the HR, can a claim be made that he was a bad Skrifa?

I have no illusions that the WHR is essentially in-active. However even under Denth's Tenure it was inactive and largely didn't do anything.

I have commitments in real life and prior to, well last week (excluding Wednesday/Tuesday of this week) I was unable to be on during Major and Minor during Weekdays, and my sleeping schedule caused me to go to sleep around 10-ish on Weekends.

Yes, this is a convient narrative, until you realize the following facts:
1) Most people who signed up for the WHR barely stayed a week.
2) We didn't even really get any people signing up for the WHR anyway.

I find it funny how you claim that I've done nothing, when in reality the WHR is in no different position then for most, if not all, of the time Dawsinian/Denth was running it. Furthermore there is not as much interest in the WHR as you think. If there were I would certainly work on it. However as it stands no one really wants to be apart of it. Besides ATM with the recent changes to Defense, on the orders of the Monarch, I can't accept new people into the WHR until they complete the requirements.

So before you claim that I've done little for the WHR, I have actually done a lot more than you think. Further there is a difference between Defense and the Storting. Defense requires people to actually WANT TO FUCKING PARTICIPATE, the Storting doesn't require that as much. I mean hell at least while I've lead Defense I've increased the transparency. Previously Defense ran little, to no, missions while Denth lead it for most of his tenure. In fact when Denth first ran it Alterra did a lot of the work from what I can tell.

We're off to a good start here, I see!  Nobody can deny Chanku's knowledge of law, and if I were to puck anybody to lead us into a constitutional convention on the legislative angle (as if the decision would be mine, hah!) It would certainly be Chanku Kestar.

I'm going to have to concur with Joshua here on this.

You have really done little since you became Jarl.  It took you over a week to respond to Harry and Horse's application when the responses for both should have been really quick and simple to do.  There have been other people who have since applied to the WHR and the SV that you've done nothing on.

And before you claim that you are busy or have been sick: yes, we all understand that, however, that's what a Thane is for.

I have offered my services as a Thane to help with things, but you have refused to let me help you.  Why is that?  Personal, irrational, hatred of me?  I have had some of the most extensive experience in the WHR outside of you and Wintermoot, and one of the most active.    Logically speaking, I am a good choice for Thane.    Why do your refuse to appoint me?  Please do not give the answer of "I don't need one" because that is not valid and you clearly do need a Thane since your activity and lack of performance as the Jarl of Defence has been called into question.

And speaking of showing a personal hatred of me, you're part of the Royal Family now, and Wintermoot has publicly stated to you, if not on the forum, but on IRC, that you're expected to behave and act accordingly, which means you are obligated, regardless of your personal feelings, to RESPECT everyone, including myself.

How can this region trust you to be a legislator when you are selectively showing respect to certain people in the region, contrary to your promises in the past of learning from your mistakes? 

How can this region trust you to be a legislator when you refuse to agree to respect everyone in this region?

How can this region trust you to be a legislator when you refuse to appoint someone who has the experience to help you in a department you're struggling to manage?

Joshua is right.  You're the Jarl, so it is up to you, during downtime, to run training operations, and help keep the WHR active.  There is so much that can be done.  The other defender regions have downtime operations and activities that help keep them active.  If you're busy, you can appoint a Thane to assist you with matters, and I have been the only person to willingly help you in a professional manner which you refused out of personal hatred of me, when you so desperately need help managing military while you are busy / sick. 

While no doubt you have legislative experience, your other actions, and poor management of the Jarlship of Defence, negates that and is very much validly called into question.

You rarely actually do anything you say you will do. Hell you said you were going to make a version of the UCMC yourself, but you never did. Another example was the hack-job attempt at putting together a regional nation RP, that you have failed to work on, but also took SEVERAL months to see the light of day and took Amalya under the fact that you might possibly be made thane to release it, and even then it seems like it was thrown together last minute. Furthermore you aren't really active, you even admit this when you said you wouldn't be good for recruiting due to that.

Sorry Chanku, but you're completely wrong on this matter.  I am a human being and a citizen of Wintreath, and as a Jarl and member of the Royal Family, you are required to show very good civil conduct to EVERYONE on this forum and this region.  That means you are required to show respect to EVERYONE here, including me.    That is fact and something you cannot ignore or refuse.

So I will ask you this question, and you need to answer: Will you RESPECT everyone AND myself as you have promised to everyone in this region, and as a member of the royal family?  You did promise that you would respect everyone, which requires respecting me.   This is a valid question and you need to answer it.

ACTUALLY it doesn't. I didn't respond to them due to the fact that most, if not all of the applicants, recently joined and given the fact that most people who go off and join the WHR rather quickly seem to disappear. I generally adopted the unofficial policy of waiting a month to see if they stuck around.

It's not a fact. Yes I may be a Jarl and Royal Family member, however I am not required by any means to give respect to someone, nor am I required to give YOU respect. It would be nice for me too, but I do not.

The promise was to merely be an attempt to end our feud, however it seems like that is impossible.

I'm not legally required to respect anyone Govindia. Please point me to any laws that say that I am required to by law, because I know Wintrean Law, and there is no law that requires that.

Your credibility is already in question with how you refuse to treat everyone with respect in the region, including myself.  Should we both be elected to the Underhusen, you would be required to be a professional and respect me in the Storting.  You already have shown you are not able to manage the Jarl of Defence, and you rejected someone out of personal and irrational malice towards them (myself), making up excuses to hide it.

Yes, because concerns about you actually being active are me making up concerns. If we both got into the UH I would bite my tongue a bit more, if only because it's the underhusen.

While I do remember promising to not be directly aggressive against you, I remember you violating that agreement first. Furthermore I do not remember Wintermoot ever telling me to on IRC.

Because the Jarl of Defense job requires people that are actually active and have an active interest in defense to work? Because of the fact that very little Wintreans are actually involved? Because of the fact that you have SEVERE restrictions within the defending community and Wintermoot had to specifically work out a deal with the other defenders in order to make sure you weren't banned from the defender operations channel. Furthermore the discussion of whether or not why I didn't decide to have you as my Thane is not for here.
