  • Name: Gary.

    Age: 30

    Alignment: Lawful Neutral

General appearance: Gary is a stickfigure. Literally, he is a being of the 2nd dimension. Often times he will jokingly wear a cape. From the side he looks like nothing more than a line. But from the front he looks like a stickfigure, like afigment of an 11 year old imagination.

Personality: Quiet and Skeptical. Rarely talks but when he does it's in an odd tone. As if multiple voice are speaking at once. He has a low intolerance for stupidity and sometimes has more of a "For the greater good" attitude. He considers himself a hero but is not above killing. Gary is a very confusing character. His culture is not like many he is from a whole-other dimension.

Combat skills (and weapons): Gary can harness electricity and use his body like a conductor. His body can also be used as a blade, he can morph his shape to fit almost anywhere, go inside pictures, and is great with a broadsword. Due to the fact that his anatomy and brain work differently, he is immune to most mind reading attempts.

    Other skills (and tools):

History: Gary is a police man from the 2nd dimension. A flat plane. One day while making himself a bowl of cereal, he opened the box to find a strange glow at the bottom. It was a faint white light but he could not see the source because the Cheerios were in the way. He dumped them all out in a frantic only to find that the bottom of the box was actually a sort of a window. Through it he could see our world, the 3D world. He then morphed and squeezed into the box with all his might and found himself here. On futuristic Earth. Upon his arrival his dimensions were changed. No longer completely flat but still flatter than anyone else on planet Earth.

Major weaknesses: Rubber, Rubber burns him.

Motivation for joining the party: I really like RPing

  • Just a technical questions but... What's his vision like... Logic would dictate that he can only see in a 2d way... 'cause otherwise nothing would've changed when he stepped through the cereal box... Additionally is his movement impaired for the same reasons?

  • You know, I really did not think that far. I just thought "Hey you know what would be cool? a stick figure superhero!" I'm sure that might cause some difficulty, I'm gonna have to think on it. I'm open to ideas though. Movement though? I picture him as moving in a 3D way, so I'm gonna assume he isn't completely 2D i'll have to change that. Just that he is so flat that from the side one would only see a line. I guess completely 2D wont work.

I don't know...your character sounds completely awesome in that simple sort of way...you and me should team up...a creature from another planet and a creature from another dimension...I can see it now..."fantasizes happily of bipedal alien creature and stick figure fighting evil"

  • Umbro the simple way to deal with it is just to change his history as him suddenly being able to perceive the 3rd dimension...  It fixes those issues and you would still be able to have your fantastic superhero idea... Which I adore... Also, so as not to hurt our minds... Would he be able to make himself look 3-d when viewed head-on? As he can adjust his form...

  • Another thing you could do which would be interesting would be to not allow my character's, Kazallu, power work on you... The same goes for you Persian... And, in fact, for Persian's character I would HIGHLY recommend that option... Having culture clashes are no fun if you have someone who can search your memory and figure out what you're trying to do... Also means that you two can brutally betray the group and allows us to fight aliens which my somewhat overpowered power would not be able to work on.

Hmm, that actually does sound brilliant...yeah, we can possibly make it so that your character could read only human minds...or at least minds that are Earthen in origin...though it is unfortunate that you will not be able to read Azures mind....Azure has such profound and interesting memories...

  • Oh, I'm sure he does... But my power being able to access any mind really is plainly overpowered... And the culture clashes would be way more fun if I can't figure out why you did that... :P

  •  Oh so true... "Excuse me, but why are you bearing your rather large canine teeth at me while your markings blare out rather shockingly...and no, you do not greet someone like that, so let go of his foot and genitalia"...hehe, though, with Azures very limited understanding of the human language and writing, and inability to talk and probably unknowingly communicate in the species language...yeah, I should get a hoot out of this...now I must wait for Butters to assimilate us...ASSIMILATE!!!!

  • Okay, So i've made some tweaks to the original posts. I wasn't sure how your mind reading operated so I went with that excuse, and OH MY GOSH! an Alien and Stickfigure?!?! HA! that would be amazing  :D

  • I would put it down as that your mind is in a different format so that human telepaths usually can't access your mind....
But I don't actually mind that much.

  • Umbro, your character has morphed to be a really thin 3rd-dimensional being, right? If so, and he can generate and conduct electricity, wouldn't that mean our characters' abilities could affect one another? After all, electromagnetism IS a single thing, as opposed to two separate entities.

  • Hmmm yea-yea I could see that. Like maybe having a team maneuver where we play off each others powers. I was originally gonna explain Gary's super conductivity as him being made of Graphene. I figured that would have been kind of cheesy so I left the explanation blank.
