Instead of attempting to do a real-time debate on IRC between different candidates who have different schedules, I thought it would be better to post a different question each day and allow the candidates to respond and debate with each other if they would like to. There will be a variety of questions addressing issues that are or may become relevant in Wintreath or the greater NationStates world. I hope that all of our candidates will take the time to participate in these debates so that our voters are better informed of where they stand on the issues.

I ask that ONLY Underhusen candidates reply to this topic. However, if you have any questions or areas you would like to see the candidates answer on, feel free to contact me on here or on IRC.

Debate 2: The First Session
You are running to be part of the very first session of the Underhusen in the region, with no previous legislation to build on and the sky as the limit. Other than the Underhusen procedures, what is the very first issue you believe the Underhusen should tackle and why?

You are running to be part of the very first session of the Underhusen in the region, with no previous legislation to build on and the sky as the limit. Other than the Underhusen procedures, what is the very first issue you believe the Underhusen should tackle and why?

Other than getting the constitution together, I think we should focus on making sure of Wintreath's future survival, eliminate any questions about rules.The reasons are simple, with us being the first Underhusen, and as you said:

...the sky as the limit.

so we have the ability. We should also eliminate any doubt on any rules specified in the constitution(once it is written).

You are running to be part of the very first session of the Underhusen in the region, with no previous legislation to build on and the sky as the limit. Other than the Underhusen procedures, what is the very first issue you believe the Underhusen should tackle and why?

Get the Constitution up and running, and pass a bill outlining things that would be considered crimes (Spying, defamation, etc.)

What issue should the Underhusen tackle first

What I think the Underhusen should tackle the issue of regional advancement. To achieve this, I think we should decide what each nation would get and give to the regional government. I believe the only way for Wintreath to advance into a powerful yet benevolent region is by sharing. Every one helps each other; every one shares. Maybe a bill that would outline what each nation has and hasn't and distribute all resources equally. This would result in a much more unified region as nations are not envious of each other for resources.

Also every Wintrite (Wintreathian) should have certain rights, so essentially a bill of rights.

Having passed the Constitution, the Underhusen should look towards any civil and political rights that may not have been explicitly indicated in its main body, passing a bill if necessary. I believe ensuring that the rights of Wintreath's citizens are agreed upon, made clear and respected is the first step towards building even stronger foundations for our region and that as members that have been elected by the people, we should put their interests first and foremost.

I believe that we should start working on the basic rights of citizens. What people can and can't do in the region.
