Citizen of the Month is back! In this topic, nominate Citizens that you feel have made a difference in the region in the past month, along with an explanation why. Once nominations are collected, there will be a vote, and the winner will become Citizen of the Month and will receive a special masking with the colour of their choice and be interviewed!

I'm a bit late with this, so nominations will be open until 11:59PM Eastern Monday 2 March.

It is my pleasure to nominate Pengu for the Citizen of the Month Award.

On 30th September 2014, Pengu officially joined the Wintreath family. Immediately upon obtaining citizenship, he applied for Hvitt Riddaral, our virtuous regional military. His first notable contribution to the community was hosting Werewolf, a forum game that was regarded with much affection by fellow Wintreans. It is not an exaggeration to call his introduction of Werewolf into Wintreath a cultural revolution after taking into consideration the colossal increase in activity levels.  On 17th October 2014, his accomplishments and potential was recognized by the Monarchy and he became part of the Overhusen.

Naturally for someone of his calibre, his abilities are not limited to his assigned duties. He projects a friendly and welcoming attitude to newcomers, makes his interactions with fellow Wintreans as pleasant as possible, provides unbiased assessments in contentious situations and reacts to disputes with praiseworthy tact. I shall not list specific examples for fear of creating a wall of text but for anyone with a genuine interest or have doubts about my claims thus far, I will recommend having a conversation with him. If you are still not convinced, please feel free to look through his posts.

As of this month, he has hosted Werewolf #3: Yu Gi Oh Abridged and Spyfall I.
 
As such, to acknowledge his exemplary service to our big family and his embodiment of Wintreath values as a community based region, I shall reiterate my endorsement and strongly urge my fellow Wintreans to vote for Pengu. He is truly qualified to be our next Citizen of the Month.

I just have to say, that's just about the best recommendation of someone I've ever read, and I think regardless of the outcome of CotM, it should do Pengu proud.

As a fervent believer in meritocracy, I think it's only right for me to direct attention to those deserving of recognition.

I'm honored to be nominated, as I appreciate every single one of you here and, as I tell Mooty when we talk on IRC, I just want to do what I can to help Wintreath thrive and grow as a region and a messageboard.  You guys are like my second family, and I always look forward to popping in daily to see how things are going and talking to everyone on here.

Now, there are going to be some on here that'll see this as controversial a decision or suggestion as Wintermoot giving Chanku the title of a Prince, but I'm going to go ahead and nominate Chanku.

I don't know too much about Chanku in the past since before I moved here from XKI, but I do know what I've seen from him.  Like most people, he's made poor decisions that have made people turn away from him, to where, as it was stated before, people didn't even vote for him in one of the previous Underhusen elections.

However, in this new year I've seen a tremendous amount of effort on his part to really make up for those decisions and mistakes.  Between really pushing forth to make the Underhusen more active in its endeavors, to pushing equally with working his best in his Jarlship, to still equally pushing to help add to Wintreath with some of his unique project and festival ideas,  I think he's definitely deserving of recognition for his efforts.

And for those who do see this as controversial or are skeptical, I only ask that you look at what he's done in the new year in each of his areas, since this is the Citizen of the Month nominations...not the Citizen of the Year or Citizen of the Quarter.

Since the beggining of his stay here, he has created marvelous opportunities for Wintreath Cultural Part, by creating some RP successes, so he is a workaholic and deserves as well a nomination.

I didn't see Harry's reply, but I'll second that nomination.
