"No! Well, it could if the owner really wanted it to, but there's no real point as far as I can tell. Don't get me wrong, I love a good tunnel, but practicality demands I go with the more traditional offering first.
See, this world has crossed a dimensional nexus, putting it in contact with a large multi-dimensional entity known as The Imperial Bureaucracy of Warhaven. Within Warhaven sprang this entity known as The Adventurer's Guild. We sally forth not so much on adventure these days, as keeping the fabric of the Time Space Continuum intact, though there's still a good bit of adventuring from time to time. Not like the golden era though I tell you what.
Anyways, point being, for the health and benefit of this world, we'd like to partner with you, and turn this tavern into a full-scale Guild Outpost. This would involve adding an inn, complete with innkeeper and professional chef, a blacksmith, capable of even advanced Metalurgy in small batches, a local wizard for magical needs, and enchanting items, and should you yourself decide to go have an adventure, we'd hire a temporary barkeeper until you returned, and that's not all, we'd provide the finest beverages from around The Multi-verse, and I can personally guarantee The Brewmasters of Dwarvenholt have several kegs of their finest Dwarven Ale on standby, should you accept.
Patronage would surely increase, as adventurers come and go, should local trouble arise with bandits or other such hooligans, the Guild would protect you whilst also securing local law enforcement, or even coordinate with local law enforcement should the government decide to go that route.
Best of all, this world, or at least the surrounding 500 square miles, would be worry free from the oddities that arise when the fabric of Time and Space wears thin." The Dwarf said, laying it all out.
He cleared his throat.
"As owner, you'd be in control of it all, as much or as little, meaning that while you get 50% of the proceeds, the profits would be much larger, netting you as much as 200-300 times what you rake in now. The other 50% goes to the Guild, which takes care of staff and all the rest. It costs nothing, as we'll even take care of building everything for you." The Dwarf explained
