It's been a long time coming, but I think we're at the point where we can discuss any desired modifications to the forum theme.

Particularly, I know most people don't like darker skins. I'm honestly more a programmer than a designer, but if anybody would like to assist in the design of a new colour-scheme, I will attempt to write it as a new skin that may even become default. I'm also open to other ideas regarding the look and feel of the forums.

A white theme would actually make more sense, since we are a winter-themed region (at least that's what I heard) and a light theme looks more inviting for new forum members. For me, it would be enough if you simply inverted the color theme right now, so we have black letters on a white/light grey background.

well i told you that shivtr consists of many designs for us to choose...and work on them.

@Brokkoli - You make a good point...I will try inverting all the colours in a new skin as soon as possible, and give people the option of switching to it. We can work on it over time, until it's ready, and then decide whether it should be the default them or whether we should stick with the current theme as default.

@Latrovia - As you mentioned, I don't believe we need to start on a new site to change the theme. I will look over your HTML code later, though.

Progress

I've started working on this, but the going is very slow since I'm not as good with design as I am with programming. I've found a decent background and started on the colour changes. If you want to check it out you can go to Profile -> Modify Profile -> Look and Layout -> Current Theme and change it to winter.

Be warned though, not everything looks pretty, and some of the default colors are still in the theme. It's a start though.

Profile i see only :Summary, Account Settings, Forum Profile....nothing related to modified thingy

I agree with brokkoli about the White backround...most of the times, ppl dislike the dark theme, well becauze it's too dark...and it looks mostly like its driving you away...Based on some psycolodgical results 70% off ppl prefer another colour, like White, for example...10% don't care at all about anything, and 20% prefer black instead.

Dark colour mostly drives you away. But since we are talking about Winter, you don't have why to do it only white, you can add a backround image of snowed mountains, or splashes of snow on a dark night or smth.

The backround colour of where we do write, make it white , and you can change the colour of letters to dark blue.

Once you click profile and go to your profile, you should see an option to modify profile below the main menu, but above the actual profile.

Even though it's not 100% finished, I've released the new theme as default on the forums. If anyone preferred the old style, you can still switch back to it through your profile.

In the coming days, I'll work to better improve this theme, and import it to the main website.

I think a logo, if possible, could benefit the board. Though I must admit the forum theme seems very :2004:.

Apparently, 2004 is still an improvement over the older theme, which was categorized as "sucked".

Just take our region's flag and/or a big "WINTREATH" sign or something.
