As part of a focus on improving security on our Minecraft server, you now have the ability to lock certain blocks to keep others out of them as well as prevent them from being destroyed! You can currently lock chests, furnaces, dispensers, signs, wooden doors, iron doors, trap doors, and fence gates. I can also add additional blocks in case we have a need to.

/lock {password} OR /cpassword - Lock a block with a password. Afterwards you'll be instructed to right-click on the block you want to lock.
/unlock OR /cunlock - Unlock a block, allowing public access. Afterwards you'll be instructed to right-click on the block you want to unlock.
/cprivate {player names} - Lock a block to everyone except the names you put in here.
/cpublic - Allow public access, but prevent anyone else from locking the block.
/cinfo - Provides information on the locked block
/remove - Remove any locks on the block
/cmodify {names} - Add players to the locked block.

Why not use Citadel?

That mod is a little too broad for where we are right now. I just wanted to get some basic security in place so we can start advertising the server, and then we can go from there.

That's not a very good idea, as if you swap plugins people will lag behind, I personally think it's better to use it generally this way we don't have to deal with loosing people or having to deal with the switch.

However, in the past people have spoke against large and extensive modding on the server, so I have opted to go with simpler mods that there is an obvious need for...in this case, chest security. As the server picks up more people, we can figure what we want as a community from there, but for now I'm going on what was said during Denth's server...

Well it's a plugin, plus this also works for chest protection.

Still, there's little indication at the moment that there would be any desire for Citadel's main features, reinforcing existing blocks and making them more difficult to break. In fact, there's no indication on Citadel's main page that it includes chest/door locking...and in fact, it specifically states that the mod is compatible with the locking mod we're using now.

True, however it can lock doors and can lock chests(those not in the citadel group must be added to access doors, or chests, unless they break them). You can look on Civcraft to see this in action.
