Great...I'll contact anyone that's on IRC in 45 minutes. If we have at least 3 people we'll play.

It appears that this week's game will be cancelled.

Instead of doing weekly games, I have decided to start a new IRC channel, #winciv5, that you can join when you want to play Civ V and are looking for other players. This means that games can happen whenever and I don't necessarily have to be here to host them. I will still post in this topic to comment on games I took part in, though.

If you get it during a sale, it should only cost a few bucks. You already have all the major and expensive DLC, all that's left are the cheap little packs that add a few maps or civs.

You should be able to get a listing from the Civ V store page on Steam...it should list what you already have.

I've been a Civ fan ever since the first Civ game came out back in 1991. I've played them all up to Civ 4. My PC at home needs updating so that i can get Civ V and Civ: Beyond Earth. Once I do that I'll definitely check back in here.

I miss the slavers from the two Call to Power games. It was always interesting trying to balance growing quickly with maintaining enough military in the cities to prevent a slave revolt

I played the first Call to Power some, but wasn't really into it...it seemed cheap compared to the main series to me.

Have you ever played Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon? That was an interesting game.

Yes! Actually back when I was about 12 I bought a CD collection from the computer software store (lol, that by itself sounds old) that had games like Civ, Fallout, Railroad Tycoon, X-Com, etc...it's where I first got my love for most of those games. Afterwards I ended up playing Railroad Tycoon 2 more when it came out, but I don't think Sid Meier was involved in the sequel.
