So, long story short, Daws apparently couldn't afford the hosting on his MC server so it's lapsed and everyone's probably lost everything that they did and had on the server.

I'm considering setting up a new server, but I want to make sure there's still interest since everyone that was involved would have to essentially start over again. I'm sorry to those people...I'll be sure to run future Wintreath-linked external projects personally so that this doesn't happen again.

Daws should have made backups of the files, if he knew he might not be able to afford it.

When I asked him if everyone had lost their stuff, he said he had no clue, so I assume he didn't make backups.

I only logged on to the old one once or twice, but I'd be active on a Wintreath server now that I know the citizens better.

I have been offline for a little while due to personal reasons. But now back up and running, was disappointed to find the server had gone. I'd definitely be interested in a new one.

Perhaps we could all build some sort of communal center at the spawn point etc.

If we start up a new server, I would like to see an organized spawn, fun plugins, etc. The last server was fun, but it just wasn't as interesting as a normal server would be with plugins added onto it.

Technically this was a 'normal' server(as vanilla servers are normal in a sense) and I liked the way it was. For a server for a region I'd rather not have an organized spawn, and the definition of Fun Plugins and what they are varies from person to person.  I'd prefer maybe making the map smaller with plugins and perhaps include citadel, prison pearl, and JukeAlert.

I'm still waiting for the right time to start a new MC server for the region.

This version will probably be mostly vanilla with a few mods to ensure security and a bit of convenience...perhaps Bukkit Essentials at least. It's not going to be much of a server if people don't feel their items/homes are safe and everyone goes into hiding.

There would have to be a really compelling case to convince me to do more than that.

I've kinda fallen out of playing MC in the past couple months, to be honest...is there still interest in the server?
