Any particular area in Italy the family is from? If I remember, the north of the region was (and is) industrial, while the south was agricultural.

Character backstory: (a few sentences about your character and what they did back in Italy)
Tall and lanky, Matteo has black hair and green eyes. He has a vivid scar from the corner of his left eye downward to underneath his chin from abuse at the hands of his own father (cut by a broken wine bottle) before being taken in by his uncle and family. He is witty and loves to sing. He also plays the mandolin. He worked as an errand boy in a textile factory before leaving for America.

American Dream: (what your character's biggest goal is) Matteo wants nothing more than to be a successful singer.
