Alright, I am putting up an official poll here to see what people want done for the next game. As it stands, I have a few options:

1) Someone runs a more vanilla game, preferably someone who wants to get into hosting without much effort. I will happily provide assistance and a basic design for such a game, I just have little interest in doing the main hosting/flavoring for such a game right now.

2) I run Botwolf 2. There is much chaos.

3) I run a slightly more bastard than vanilla game

4) I run my standard role madness chaotic game

5) Michi runs a very lovely game (Highly recommend this option, Michi runs good games.)

6) Anyone else runs a game. Insert your own options here.

So just let me know what you want done and I will get it set up. I expect this process to take a week or two so enjoy the break and get ready for whatever you decide is next.

But if we are gonna do a vanilla game for new players I do think it should be at least slightly bastard so they can get a feel for the general wintrean style...

I'd say 5 and 2 (mainly because I'd have a vanilla game prepared).  I mentioned this on the Discord as well and I know Moot has on occasion as well, but I think it'd be beneficial to run two types of games at once for the reasons Abigail stated: One would be a vanilla game for the folks who prefer the casual vibes, the other would be more on the mechanical/bastard-ish side for folks who appreciate the wackiness/chaos.  Likewise, people such as new folks could spectate the chaotic one to get an idea of how that vibe would be before jumping into such a game themselves, while the vanilla game would be a kind of friendly tutorial to prepare them for WW.

I will say though that bastard games really aren't a traditional Wintrean style.

Traditionally, Werewolf from 1 to 21 here (including the Summersend games) has usually been more casual vanilla with mild to slightly complex, but still completely manageable mechanical tweaks...with the most complex being the Choose Your Own Werewolf games (which aside from Until Dawn were usually not widely enjoyed outside of the story) and Tau's Game of Thrones game which had 2 game phases that had their own threads.

If anything, the only reason we've ever had bastard games is because of MU's influence in recent years, and even then you're talking it didn't really start to become a thing until Werewolf 22.  At most before 22, we started throwing some of the common WW jargon into games because of that MU influence digging in around late 2019/early 2020...but we didn't have our first actual bastard game until WW22...and it's been very divided on whether or not people actually genuinely like those games since it seems like we're always having this talk (the casual or complex talk) after a bastard game has concluded (We had it for at least 22, 25, and 26, and I vaguely remember folks talking about it after games 23 and 24 as well...and definitely remember it for Lil Wolf when the folks used to MU style brought it in there despite it being a casual vanilla game).

So I'd have a hard time saying it's general Wintrean style when it's still somewhat new for us and it's not something that a  decent list of Wintreath folks enjoy having continuously versus once in a while.  If anything, the Wintrean style has normally been casual and leisurely like the 10KI games.  But because of the folks that play WW outside of Wintreath that bring the influence back, there's just been more mixed in...though the reception to it has definitely been divided since it more than likely either leads to talks about whether or not we need/want such complexities in our games whenever someone hosts or talks about hosting such games...or you have players who straight up stop playing because it's too much for them.
