If you're a member of the regional discord, you might have guessed between all of the pings and prodding that we've been trying to find more games to play in the community. The revival of CAH is starting to gain traction and the discord is seeing a fair amount of activity. And my little busy-body butt couldn't resist throwing my hat in the ring and trying my luck with a new batch of games, so last Saturday I decided to try my luck with Jackbox Games- for those of you who are unfamiliar with the game, Wintermoot and I summed it up in this announcement:

What is Jackbox? A collection of party games- Drawing games, writing games, trivia games, hidden identity games… no party-goer gets left behind. Some of the most popular include games like Quiplash (a fill in the blank funny faceoff), Trivia Murder Party 2 (a competitive trivia face off with a ghostly twist), and Survive the Internet (a contest to see who can make who look worse out of context).

What do I need to play? Do I have to own the game? That's the beauty of Jackbox- no you don't! Only the host has to. All you need is an internet connection, a way to watch the stream (which will either be held in call or on https://kosmi.io/ in the event of technical issues), and a computer, tablet, or phone to play on. To join the game during the event, simply go to https://jackbox.tv/#/ enter the code shown on the stream and a nickname.

Saturday night started out a little slow, with only @Arenado, @Melehan, and @TGN making an appearance. The trial game started at about 9:30 Central, around the time CAH would normally be hosted on Fridays. Seeing as CAH normally draws in a fair few players, the numbers were discouraging to start, as there's no point in making this a regular occurrence if people aren't reasonably interested in it. Within the next half hour, more people drifted in. A few folks only stayed with us for a few games... but a sizeable group played for six hours! (We'd originally thought 7, but we'd made the mistake of playing on the night of the time change- sorry to our American players!) To my amazement, we had 11 players and a few stragglers that came into VC to hang out!

And the first night went so well that we proceeded to have a second Jackbox night on Sunday. We had 8 players on Sunday, a healthy mix of old and new! (Though I neglected to get pictures for this match due to technical difficulties- if you have pictures you'd like to add, message me or add below!)

I had no idea what this was when I joined, but it was fun.
