I've received several reports in the last few days of people not being able to see either a post they had made or a post where somebody had quoted them, but I've had no luck figuring out the issue. None of the recent work I've done involves the code that displays posts. At this point I'm not even sure if it's a bug that involves the Werewolf system itself or whether it's a general forum bug that's only being discovered now because Werewolf is so active. Either way, I need some help, so if you've had this issue please try the steps below and post here with the requested information.
1) First, try clearing your browser cache by hitting Ctrl+F5. If this didn't resolve the issue, continue on.
2) If you received a notification that someone quoted you that you can't see, what is the ID number of the post? You can get this from clicking the link in your notifications and then getting the number from the URL (ie wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=7514.msg166127).
3) There is another forum bug where links to a specific post are not going to the right post/page. To make sure you're not being impacted by that bug instead, please try to manually find the post by matching the post ID in the last step with the IDs that are shown on the top-right of each post "Post #166127" for example. The IDs are in order of when posts are made, so if you're looking for 166127 and the post at the top of the page is 166129, you need to go back a page.
Were you able to find the post by this method? If not, are there posts both above and below where the post should be (it's specifically excluding that one post)?
4) If you know where the post should be, try going to More->Print Page and looking for it there. Were you able to find it on the print page?
5) It's been speculated that this is an issue with mobile. Are you encountering this issue on a mobile device? If so, have you tried going to the post on a PC?
6) Finally, what browser are you using?
